Khloe Kardashian is explaining the mysterious bandage on her face.
While many thought it might be more of a cosmetic procedure, Khloe revealed it was more serious and scary than that.
Taking to her Instagram story on Tuesday, October 11, the mother of two explained the reason behind the face bandage.

Khloe started by sharing a photo collage of her face with a bandage on it.
She wrote, “I’ve seen many stories about the bandages constantly growing on my face, with some of you wondering why I’ve been wearing them on my cheeks for the past few weeks.”

Khloe explained that she noticed a small bump on her face that she initially thought was a small pimple; however, after it didn’t go away in seven months, he decided to do a biopsy.

“Dermatologist Dr. Tess Mauricio examined it, and a second biopsy was performed by Dr. Dan Behroozan because what they both saw was very rare for someone my age,” she explained. “A few days later I was told I had to undergo surgery immediately to remove the tumor from my face. I just called Dr. Garth Fischer, my family friend and one of the best surgeons in Beverly Hills that I know will take excellent care of my face.”

Dr. Fischer was able to “get everything back—all my margins look clear and now we’re in the healing process. So here we are… you’ll continue to see my bandages and when I’m cleared, you’ll probably see a scar (and the indentation on my cheek from having the tumor removed).”

Khloe is using this vulnerable time for a better cause.
“PS I am ONLY sharing this story with you so I can remind everyone to get checked regularly. At 19, I had melanoma on my back, and I had surgery to remove it too, so I was ready for melanoma,” the story continued. “Even those who don’t, we have to check all the time. I’m someone who wears sunscreen every day, religiously so no one is exempt from this. Please take this seriously and do regular self-exams and your annual check-ups.”
