A kidnapped New York man with a home in Mexico was found blindfolded and bound at the ankles and wrists in a remote Mexican jungle, officials said.
Joseph Constantine Buonincontri, 35, lies in a thatched hut deep in the Limones desert, according to Office of the Attorney General of Quintana Roo.
She had been abducted three days earlier from her home in Limones, a remote town nearly 200 miles southwest of Cancún.
Buonincontri told authorities that he had been abducted “by unknown people,” Mexico News Daily reported, citing local channels Reforma and Sipse.
He was found on Tuesday after a military search team was tipped off by locals about a taxi from Tulum full of armed men driving through an “opening” in the jungle next to the highway.
The shack, with Buonincontri tied up inside, was just 325 feet from where the taxi was seen, according to reports.
The kidnappers had fled by the time Buonincontri was rescued, but they reportedly left behind traces of marijuana, a tactical vest and an AR-15 rifle magazine.

The kidnappers have reportedly demanded a $200,000 ransom for the New York man, who was not seriously injured.
The US State Department did not immediately respond to a message left by The Post.
