Killer Mike speaks out, places blame after Grammys arrest

Killer Mike said he had the “highest confidence” he would be “exonerated of all wrongdoing” over his arrest at the Grammy Awards – blaming it all on “overzealous security.”

The Atlanta-based rapper, born Michael Render, was charged with a misdemeanor for allegedly knocking out a security guard who did not flee in the rain outside the Cyrpto.com Arena.

The arrest comes after the 48-year-old picked up three Grammys in the main rap categories — performance, song (“Scientist & Engineer”) and album (“Michael.”)

The MC claimed the fight started from “confusion at which door me and my team should enter” during the chaos of the awards ceremony.

“We experienced overzealous security guards but my team and I have high confidence that I will eventually be cleared of all wrongdoing,” he said.

The Run The Jewels rapper also said in a statement that he did “better than OK” and was “very proud” of his Grammy – his first since 2003.
