UPDATE: Kanye West has pulled a “GOTCHA” and reversed his decision to close Donda Academy. According to reports, the unaccredited children’s school reopened its doors as quickly as it closed them.
In a new email to parents and students sent Wednesday night, Donda Academy announced it would be back with a “vengeance.”
“Join us tomorrow morning in worship for the return of Donda Academy. With the help of our parents and community, we are back and back with a vengeance!” the email is read. “Donda’s children will change the world.”

Donda Academy Principal Jason Angell sent an email to parents of students on Wednesday, October 26, telling them the school would be closed “at the discretion of our founders.”
The email read, “First, we would like to express our gratitude to the community of families and scholars that Donda Academy brings together. However, at the discretion of our Founders, Donda Academy will be closed for the remainder of the 2022-2023 school year effective immediately. Thursday, October 27. OVER THERE. NO SCHOOL TOMORROW.”
Parents Wondering Where Kids Will Go To School & Tuition Refunds
Can you imagine being the parent on the receiving end of this email? Like, there’s one more semester and then some school is left for the kids.
“Our leadership team will work diligently to assist all families during this transition, ensuring each scholar has what they need to succeed in their next community in a fast and friendly manner,” the email continued. “We aim to bring it back in September 2023, and we are confident that our scholars will continue to thrive as the next generation of creative innovators, bold influencers and academic leaders.”
Angell signed it off with “Thank you for your support.”

Their children now attend Sierra Canyon School in Los Angeles. The SKIM creator reportedly made the decision for the family and Kanye disagreed.
On September 1, West shared a text message exchange between him and Kim.
Kim is texting her ex-husband on behalf of Kris Jenner.
“From my mother- PLEASE tell her to stop saying my name. I’m almost 67 years old and I don’t always feel great and this stresses me out to no end,” Kim’s message read.

The rapper responded, “You don’t really care about my black kids and where they go to school. They will not record playboys and sex. Tell your Clinton friends to get me. I am here.”
He later deleted all of his posts, but started Friday, September 2 with a bang!
“Idea, Kids 2 days in Donda and 3 days in Sierra Canyon. Or 3 days at Donda and 2 at Sierra Canyon including bus field trips to educational sites,” the text message read.
