Last year, Kim’s decision to wear the Jean Louis gown famously worn by Marilyn Monroe in 1962 when she sang “Happy Birthday, Mr. President” to John F. Kennedy was met with outrage and accusations of damaging the seams of the iconic dress.
The historic dress is on loan from Ripley’s Believe It or Not. Many people expressed concern about its preservation, including the famous fashion designer Bob Mackie, who worked for Jean Louis and sketched the dress.
However, Ripley’s Believe It or Not, in a statement to the public, assured that they had taken precautions to protect the dress, saying, “Anytime we feel the dress is in danger of tearing or we feel it is not comfortable about anything, we can always say we’re not going to continue this.”

As well as being blamed for ruining the seams of the historic dress, Kardashian also faced backlash after publicly admitting on the red carpet that she had lost 16 pounds in three weeks by going on a “strict diet” to fit into Marilyn Monroe’s dress.
However, her trainer, Don-A-Matrix, who has also worked with her sister, Khloé Kardashian, for years, quickly came to the defense of the SKIMS founder, maintaining that she lost 16 pounds in three weeks as a “healthy way” and sometimes exercise “twice a day.”
In an interview with TMZ, Don-A-Matrix stated, “I think one of the misconceptions is — he works hard. I was there through the process, and it wasn’t like a starving thing.”
“He’s been on a real balanced diet, and sometimes he won’t eat too much, but the second thing is he goes to the gym and does work,” he added.
Kim also wore Monroe’s famous green dress, which she wore to the 1962 Golden Globe Awards, and was presented with a lock of the late actress’ hair by Ripley.
