The official invitation to the coronation of King Charles III has finally been announced!
After the death of Queen Elizabeth II, the longest-serving heir became the oldest person to ascend the British throne at the age of 73. Previously considered the Prince of Wales, Charles III will be crowned King in an upcoming ceremony.
Two thousand lucky guests attend the highly anticipated event, whose appearance will be confirmed by elaborately designed invitations. Colorful cards celebrate the king’s ascension with strong symbolism representing his reign.
King Charles’ Coronation Invitation Pays Tribute to His Sustainability Interests

On April 5, the Royal Family updated their official Instagram page with a carousel of historic coronation cards, including a specially illustrated invitation of King Charles to the late Queen’s 1953 coronation ceremony.
The highlight of the slideshow was a photo of the upcoming coronation invitation. The stunning card features a variety of colors, giving off a whimsical vibe with carefully painted flowers and animal details.
The vibrant illustration bears a striking resemblance to the beautifully designed card for Queen Elizabeth’s coronation. As the picture shows, the former Prince of Wales was the only person to receive this hand-drawn invitation as a child.
Designed with boys in mind, the card features marching bands, vocal Grenadier Guards, lions and unicorns, among other details. Like this 1953 invitation, the king’s coronation card honors his passion for environmental sustainability with lots of wildflowers and wildlife.
In keeping with the King’s love of nature, intricately designed works of art will be distributed to two thousand guests on recycled paper with gold foil detailing. The invitation was hand painted in watercolor and gouache by Andrew Jamieson, a heraldic artist and manuscript illuminator.
The bright blue wording on the coronation card introduces Her Majesty Camilla as Queen rather than Queen. The 75-year-old will be crowned alongside her husband in an expected event at the Abbey Church of Westminster on May 6, 2023.

As shared by RAKYAT, the invitation of the Head of the Commonwealth included several powerful symbols. In the center is the motif of the Green Man, “an ancient figure from British folklore, symbolic of spring and rebirth, to celebrate the new reign.”
British wildflower meadows are depicted in detail as card borders. It includes Lily of the Valley, cornflowers, wild strawberries, dog roses, bluebells, and a sprig of rosemary for keepsakes, perhaps in memory of the late Queen.
Incorporated into the flora design are wildlife, such as the animals on the royal couple’s coat of arms — lions, unicorns and wild boars. A butterfly and a bee also appear among the flowers, grouped in threes to represent Charles’ reign as the third king of his name.
Between Charles and Camilla’s coats of arms, two birds are drawn perched on a giant letter C. The robin and wren represent rebirth and immortality, apparently added to reflect the continuation of the late Queen’s legacy.
Additionally, Her Majesty’s coat of arms featuring a lion and wild boar has been updated with the Garter. This comes after her installment as a Royal Lady of the Order of the Garter last summer.
Spice Girls Join List Of Famous Artists To Turn Down Performance At King’s Coronation

As previously shared by The Blast, the upcoming coronation of King Charles is facing some problems when it comes to finding the right entertainer to entertain the guests. Despite being a historic event, artists are not lining up for the opportunity of a lifetime.
The Spice Girls, the group that dominated the music industry in the 90s, are expected to perform their much-anticipated reunion performance at the coronation. However, the schedules of Mel B, Mel C, Geri Horner, Emma Bunton, and Victoria Beckham clashed with the event.
This performer joins the list of celebrities not to headline the upcoming festival. Elton John and Harry Styles turned down the offer due to their “crazy busy schedules” as they are both touring the world separately.
In addition, Adele and Ed Sheeran were also bailed at the coronation despite being at the top of the king’s list of sought-after performers. The “Shape of You” singer explained that she was unable to accept the offer due to a booked performance, while the “Easy on Me” singer reportedly did not share her reason for declining.
According to a royal source, the two rejections were “embarrassing” to the royal family as Adele and Sheeran are considered “giants of the entertainment industry” and “quintessentially British.”
