King Charles III 3-Month Reign Already Endures Two Egging Incidents!

It has been almost three months since King Charles III ascended the British throne following the passing of his beloved mother, Queen Elizabeth II, on September 8, 2022.

Although the king has risen to his royal duties, he has reportedly been duped for a second time, a month after being targeted in a similar attack in York.

King Charles Egged During His Visit to St. George in Luton

According to reports, an unknown individual threw an egg at King Charles for the second time on Tuesday, December 6, and police arrested a suspect for the offensive act.

Once the king was shot in the Square of St. George in Luton, his bodyguard called for help by moving him from the scene.

Despite this, Charles was undaunted by the attack as he returned to shake hands with the crowd after being taken to another area. He looked quite calm and beaming as he met the crowd while talking to several people at the newly constructed Guru Nanak Gurdwara and Town Hall.

The king was observed to have removed his shoes while visiting a Gurdwara and wore a Ramaal head covering at a Sikh temple, where he greeted people using the namaste gesture.

In addition, he was invited to unveil a tablet to commemorate the official opening of the Gurdwara after bowing before the Sikh scripture Guru Granth Sahib.

Astonishingly, the tablet bears the date of that day, and the king makes a joking remark about it, saying it’s great he “turned up on the right day.”

During his visit to the Gurdwara, he saw the women in the kitchen who cooked for many people every day, and he was amazed at their cooking skills with dough. For his visit to the Town Hall, he was greeted by Susan Lousada, Lord Lieutenant of Bedfordshire, and Sameera Saleem, Mayor of Luton.

Some people from the crowd also greeted him with gifts and wished him a Merry Christmas. Other members of the public he met included Luton Council representatives and Festus Akinbusoye, Bedfordshire Police and the Crime Commissioner. Marking his visit to the Town Hall, which was opened by the Duke of Kent in 1936, Charles signed the visitors’ book and unveiled a plaque.

The egging incident brought to mind the 74-year-old’s previous encounter with an angry man who targeted him during a visit to York. 23-year-old Patrick Thelwell has been arrested over the attack.

At the time, The Blast reported that the king and his wife, Queen Camilla Parker Bowles, had arrived in the city on November 9 to honor the late Queen Elizabeth by unveiling a statue at York Minster. The early part of the tour went without drama, after which someone in the crowd threw four eggs at the couple; all missed.

The incident was apparently caught on camera, and the perpetrator was eventually identified as Thelwell, a former York University student, also an Extinction Rebellion activist. Additionally, it was reported that as he threw the egg, he shouted, “This country was built on the blood of slaves.”

Thelwell was arrested by police almost immediately as the crowd jeered him and sang, “God Save The King.”

Following the incident, King Charles issued a statement regarding an honorary statue for his mother, declaring that “her image will watch over what will be Queen Elizabeth Square for centuries to come.”

Based on birthday posts made in honor of the monarch on social media, it was revealed that he has officially become the “Park Ranger of Windsor Park” seventy years after his father was given the post.

The announcement further revealed, “Renjata offers guidance to the Deputy Ranger and his team in the day-to-day management of one of the oldest farms in the country.”

It is worth noting that King Charles’ father, the Duke of Edinburgh, was the longest serving Ranger who held the post from 1952 until his death last year. During his reign, he oversaw several developments, including “the reintroduction of the Red Deer and the development of the Savill Park Visitor Centre.”
