On Wednesday, Buckingham Palace announced that King Charles III will be hospitalized due to an “enlarged prostate.”

The statement read, “Like thousands of men every year, The King has sought treatment for an enlarged prostate. His Majesty’s condition is not dangerous, and he will go to the hospital next week for a corrective procedure.”

“The King’s public meetings will be postponed for a short period of recovery,” the statement said.

The announcement of King Charles’ “enlarged prostate” came shortly after it was revealed his daughter-in-law, Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, had been hospitalized after stomach surgery.

Kensington Palace revealed that the 42-year-old underwent “planned abdominal surgery” at a London clinic on Tuesday.

Because of the surgery, Kate was hospitalized during her recovery. The princess will also not be able to carry out her royal duties until after Easter.

“The surgery was a success, and he is expected to remain in hospital for ten to fourteen days before returning home to continue his recovery. Based on current medical advice, he is unlikely to return to public duty until after Easter,” said a statement from the palace.

Kate’s surgery was reported to be a “non-cancer” issue. After leaving hospital, she is expected to recover at her Windsor home, where she has lived since 2022, with her husband, Prince William, and their children, Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5.
