Piper’s marriage lasted until her death in 2015.
Toombs and Piper were married from 1982 until his death in 2015. His partner survived cancer, electrocution, a plane crash and several car accidents before dying in his sleep in July at the age of 61 at his summer home in Hollywood, California. According to the death certificate, he died of a heart attack caused by hypertension, with pulmonary embolism playing a role.
Her husband is considered one of the best heel wrestlers of all time.
Piper said in an interview in 2015 that it was overwhelming to know that the industry had projected him as the greatest heel in the history of the profession. He goes on to say that as a heel, if you do your job well, you’re the one to be despised the most, noting that you have to spend $20 to eat at Denny’s so they don’t spit on your food. Piper said that her job was to make people dislike her and that she was trained to do that.
Because the journey from his home to the airport or public area is dangerous, he will be transported via the hotel’s service elevator. “People don’t understand how much it takes to be a professional wrestler,” he said, “to be stabbed three times, once an inch from the heart.” The love of his wife and children kept him alive; otherwise, he would have been dead a long time ago. They had their first child nine years after their marriage. His children turned the monster into a father, and all he wanted was to be a good father.
Mother of four children
He has four children with Piper, three daughters, Ariel Teal, Anastacia Shea, and Falon Danika, and one son, Colton. Teal Piper, their daughter, followed in her father’s footsteps. She started her professional wrestling career for All Elite Wrestling in 2019 and later joined Women of Wrestling (WOW). Teal and his brother, former MMA fighter Colt Baird Toombs, are working on a book titled “Rowdy: The Roddy Piper Story,” which their father wrote before his death to better understand himself.
The book tells the story of his professional life. Teal and his brother wanted everything in the biography to be true and accurate. They want people to know who their father is outside of the ring because there are a lot of incidents that may not show him clearly, but that’s part of who he is, and they want to come from an honest place, Teal stated. Teal also shared the most important thing his father taught him.
“You have to live and breathe it.” You must do it all the time. You must continue to improve your trading and be ready.”
He said that while he’s good at improvising, he does a lot of work behind the scenes.
When his partner was a wrestler, he never had a storyline.
Piper said on The Howard Stern Show in 2002 that he never had a plot other than one in WCW when the referee gave him an order right before the bell, and that was the only script he received but was thrown back to the person. The only thing that is known is that they want the same final match, whatever that is, and how you get there is the magic of wrestling, he said.
He also said that when John Carpenter asked him to film “They Live” in 1998, Vince McMohan Jr. gets angry and tells him that he will have another film for him. He then sent him a communication through his lawyer indicating that Hulk Hogan and Vince McMahon were the only two WWE ventures. The feud started when he was given a film and refused to comply with what Vince McMohan Jr. suggested. since he worked on the film with John Carpenter. Then he was asked to quit WWE.
Net worth
