Since first becoming an item in January 2021 and finally walking down the aisle in May 2022, Kourtney Kardashian Barker and Travis Barker are fast becoming the “It Couple”.
However, their love didn’t stand a chance at first because Kourtney wasn’t entirely on board with the idea of dating an old friend. The reality star opened up about the early stages of her romance with her husband and the uncertainties involved.

The Poosh founder made an appearance on Tuesday’s episode of the “Not Skinny But Not Fat” podcast with host Amanda Hirsch and talked about her romance with the Blink 182 drummer and how she loves him so much and he feels the same way about her.

However, it wasn’t always that way from the beginning, as he was afraid to take their friendship to another level. When asked about the “Will they won’t they” situation she faced with Travis, Kourtney admitted that she sometimes entertained the thought of meeting the drummer when they were just friends.
“I’ve thought about it, but I also think what we both always say to each other is that we feel like a home away from home. Like at times when I felt maybe I wasn’t at my best, I remember going with him and all the kids, maybe going to church or an art museum…”
Kourtney also revealed the happy news that Travis was the first person to introduce her to matcha, something that has become a staple in her life. Despite the close relationship they share, the mother-of-three has avoided suggestions that they should date because “she’s afraid of something real.”
When Hirsch later asked how the transition to lovers began, Kourtney revealed that Travis asked her on a movie date but didn’t make any physical moves. However, she was so scared that she talked to her therapist about it.
“I remember telling my therapist. I was like, ‘Travis asked me to go to the movies, and he was like, ‘and are you going?’ And I was like, ‘I can’t go. I can’t,'” Kourtney recalled. “And she was like, why? He sounded like a good dad, and he was all those things, and I was just like, what if he tries to kiss me? What if he holds my hand? And he was like, so what?”

Kourtney admitted she had been on guard for so long because the possibility of dating Travis felt “too real.” It also didn’t help that her friends kept pressuring them to date. While founder Lemme was excited to find the one in Travis, he was a little bummed about how things started with them.

The eldest daughter of the Kardashian-Jenner clan admits that she and her husband often talk about how they would have had more time together if they had dated earlier, but they are always grateful for the right time.
When asked to discuss what the LaSalle Records label founder sometimes does that annoys her, Kourtney declared that Travis is an absolute sweetheart and they don’t fight. “We have talks, we like to talk, but we’re not fighters like yelling, screaming, and hanging up and all that. But we like to sit face to face but a fire or something and talk,” he said.
As for the secret to their blossoming romance, Kourtney revealed that it’s making the most of the quality time they spend together despite their busy schedules.

Kourtney’s appearance on the podcast comes days after she doted on her man after he surprised her with a giant bouquet. As The Blast reported, at the end of September, the 43-year-old took to his Instagram Stories to show off the giant flower he got after the launch of his multivitamin brand, Lemme.
She showed off the beautiful arrangement, which consisted of colorful flowers ranging from pink, green and lavender, and captioned the post, “My husband is my dream come true.” Travis reposted the flower on his Story and called his woman “everything.”
