Controversy
- After the release of ‘Gautamiputra Satakarni’, SS Rajamouli expressed his admiration for the film and even agreed to do an interview with Krish for a television channel. When Krish’s team asked Rajamouli for permission to use the interview for other media platforms, Rajamouli agreed. However, a Telugu newspaper published the interview, portraying it as if Rajamouli had written a letter to Krish, to express his appreciation for the film. This infuriated Rajamouli, and he asked Krish’s team for an explanation of what had happened. Rajamouli also posted about the letter on his social media account, saying that excerpts of his interview were presented in the form of a letter.
- During the shooting of the film “Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi” in 2018, Krish left the direction due to creative differences with Kangana Ranaut. Reportedly, Kangana interfered with the direction of the film, and she humiliated and pushed Krish out of the film. According to Kangana, she had to take on the role of director after Krish left the film to work on NTR’s biopic.
- After the release of “Manikarnika” in 2019, Kangana Ranaut claimed that she had directed 70% of the film, which angered Krish, who was credited as co-director of the film. According to Krishna-
Kangana has done 20-25 percent in the first half and 10-15% in the second half. I didn’t record the song and I didn’t record his entrance scene. In the second half, he reshot some scenes that I did in a different way. I don’t think how Kangana can sleep well by taking the first credit in the direction when she doesn’t deserve it.
In response to Krish, her sister, Rangoli Chandel, slammed her in a series of tweets, where she told that Kangana had begged her to take credit for the film but Krish was doing everything to spoil the film. In response to the rangoli, Krish said-
Both Kangana and I are not leaving the industry anytime soon. I will direct more films in the future and so will he. People will know who is standing where. I am sick and tired, with Kangana and the whole controversy.”
