Krishna Kapoor was born on December 30, 1930 in the state of Rewa, Madhya Pradesh, India. She is Prithviraj Kapoor’s cousin as she is the daughter of Prithviraj’s mother’s brother. She married Raj Kapoor at the age of 16. She is the grandmother of Kareena Kapoor, Karisma Kapoor, and Ranbir Kapoor.
Her son Randhir told PTI that, “My mother died around 5 am today due to a heart attack… old age was another factor. We are deeply saddened by his death.”

Krishna had been complaining of shortness of breath for the last few years of his life. He has also been hospitalized for it in the past. He died of a heart attack around 5 am on October 1, 2018. He was 87 years old at the time of his death.
