The holiday icon has teamed up with Command Brands this holiday season to celebrate the magical performers who love to spread cheer during the most festive time of the year. As the new brand’s “Partner-in-Cheer,” Chenoweth, 55, launched a nationwide contest offering consumers a chance to win a Command Brand Cheer Package and $25,000.
“I’m their ‘Cheerfriend’ and I mean, they put on this really great competition and they got me involved and I’m so glad they did. You follow Command on Instagram, and then you tag a fun maker in your life on their post,” Chenoweth told The Blast exclusively.
“Within a month, the brand will announce the winner, and they can win things like lots of their products, or even $25,000, which comes in handy at Christmas time.”
Chenoweth then explained exactly what a cheerleader is and who she considers the cheerleaders in her life.
“The cheerleader for me is my mom, and maybe a lot of people say that but my whole life, she lives for November, Thanksgiving to Christmas. It’s like his happy place,” he said.
“He cooks that way; he decorates that way. He is the glue of our family. She brings everyone together, and she has a lot of joy in her heart and it’s so, it rubs off on the rest of us and so if I were to do the competition, I would nominate my mama.”

The “Wicked” alum said that Command products are a staple in her household and have been used for a long time. She can’t decorate for the holidays without her favorite product – light hooks. In fact, he uses it all year round.
“The light hook, it’s clear, it’s just for the light. You can’t see them,” he said. “I shut off the white light, I’m actually, I’m a freak who does it all year round. So, in my bathroom around my mirror, when I shower, I can enjoy the white light scenario. It doesn’t damage my paint, my walls, what- whatever, so I happen to be a big fan of it.”

This holiday season, Chenoweth will be doing something she hasn’t done in a long time – not working on Thanksgiving and Christmas.
“I just got married and my husband and I decided that we wanted it to be something special and we wanted to be with our family. In many ways, I feel like life is getting too short and I just want to spend time with those who love me and those I love. We’re going to Arkansas for Thanksgiving, that’s where he’s from and we’re going to Oklahoma for Christmas, where I’m from, so we’re going to kill it,” he told The Blast.
“Frankly, we can’t wait because it’s a priority for both of us to make that decision. I really want to invite people to follow your heart. Every day we wake up is a gift. We never know how life will turn out. If there’s something on your heart, like I want to spend time with my family, or I want to go see so-and-so, do it. I can’t say it enough.”
Chenoweth recently had a stark reminder that no one is promised tomorrow when her best friend died a few months ago unexpectedly.
“So, the lesson for me that I hear over and over again is to follow your heart,” he said. “Spend time with the people you love.”

Chenoweth’s latest book, “I’m No Philosopher But I’ve Got Thoughts: Mini-Meditations for Saints, Sinners, and the Rest of Us,” was released earlier this year, and at first she didn’t write a whole lot. , but then everything just clicked into place.
“During Covid, like most of us, I was battling depression, and what I was going to do and how I was going to be creative. me [literary] agent says it’s time to do another book. I said, ‘Oh no, I won’t do it again. That was the hardest thing I’ve ever done. No, no, no, not doing that,’” he explained.
“And then I started reading my journal and I went down the rabbit hole of my own journal entries from the last 30 years, and I thought, wait, what if I share some of the things that I haven’t heard, some of the things that I’m fighting now and what helped me and what didn’t. And that’s how the book was born.”
Chenoweth said that while there is a lot of humor in the book, many have misconceptions about her that she wants to clear up.
“There’s some misconception about me out there that I’m just happy all the time and it’s rainbows and glitter, but that’s not true,” she said. “That’s not real life.”
He used to think that no one wants to hear about his struggles and issues, but now he thinks differently.
“People need to hear that no matter where you are in life, we all fight,” he said. “And for so long, I tried to hide it because I’m a southerner and we suppress it and push it down, and the problem is that it always comes up.”
