Kyle Richards has paid a moving tribute to his late friend, Lorene Shea, on what would have been her 54th birthday.
Longtime fans of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” may know that the reality star grew up with her best friend, who died in May of last year at the age of 52 after a long battle with mental illness.
The two maintained a close friendship for nearly five decades, and their bond grew stronger until Lorene’s death. To commemorate his dear friend’s 53rd posthumous birthday, Bravolebrity posted a special tribute on Instagram.

The cast of “Halloween Kills” posted a slideshow of different photos from their childhood to adulthood decades later. The adorable ten-frame broadcast feature shows that the whole time, the TV star and her late friend were having a great time together. In an emotional caption, Richards wrote:

The message below the image captures her undeniable sense of accomplishment. “Today marks one year alcohol free for me,” Richards wrote. “Some things lead me to the conclusion that I don’t want to drink.” The message continued:
“First of all, I didn’t feel it had the place I wanted it to personally. I listened to my heart, and the message was clear to me. I know it no longer serves me (no pun intended) physically, mentally, or spiritually. I never put a time frame on when I would drink again or said IF I would.”
He indicated he felt “clearer mentally” and no longer had “concerns” about alcohol. However, he noted that he has received some “resistance” but is not one to succumb to “peer pressure.”
Fans flocked to the comments to show their support. One fan shared, “We need more people to support living this healthy lifestyle. Thank you for being a light.”
