A senior aide to a Los Angeles councilman has resigned after being slammed for making a Holocaust joke about Amy Schumer.
Josh Androsky, a top adviser to Councilman Hugo Soto-Martinez, made lewd comments on X during an exchange with political podcast TrueAnon, the LA Times reported.
The post included puns about concentration camps and disparaging comments about the comedian’s weight.
“Amy Schumer is very sensitive to the death of Jews because of her experience in the Holocaust. The Nazis named the concentration camp after him. It’s called Da Cow,” TrueAnon reportedly postedapparently referring to Dachau, where tens of thousands died.
Androsky, a former comedian who is Jewish, responded by stating that “of course you’d say this about it when you know it’s actually Cowschwitz,” an apparent reference to Auschwitz, where more than 1.1 million people are believed to have perished.
Schumer recently reflected on her Jewish heritage on Instagram, where she mentioned a relative who had “the number from Auschwitz burned into his arm,” referring to the Nazi ID system for their victims.

He also apologized for making “hurtful” remarks about Gazans and promised to be “more careful.”
Androsky, an outspoken progressive, then took another dig at Schumer with comments about cow farms, writing: “I call her cowschwitz!!! whether they all (and amy) smell the same.”
The assistant, who initially deleted her posts and then her entire account, did not respond to several inquiries from the LA Times for comment.
Soto-Martínez called Androsky’s post “disturbing and reprehensible.”

The incident apparently began early Friday, when a TrueAnon account targeted Schumer after she posted a political cartoon mocked as offensive to Gazans and protesters seeking an end to the Hamas-Israel war.

LA Jewish leaders also attacked Androsky.
