LA homeowner puts liberal politicians in crosshairs after defending home in wild shootout

A Los Angeles concealed carry owner who had to defend himself and his family in a terrifying shootout at his front door is demanding LA leaders prosecute criminals who terrorize law-abiding residents.

“Everybody I know is hooked,” LA entrepreneur Vince Ricci told Fox News Digital this week. “It’s not normal.”

Ricci said he was returning to his Los Angeles home Saturday afternoon after hitting the gym when two gunmen jumped his fence and tried to force their way into his home.

“Out of nowhere, boom, I had a gun behind me. And there was another guy running at the same time and I couldn’t understand what he was saying,” said Ricci recounting the terrifying incident.

The attempted home invasion happened just before 7:30 p.m., when Ricci’s wife, her friend and the family’s nanny were inside cooking dinner and putting Ricci’s nearly 5-month-old daughter to bed.

Security footage captured the entire terrifying scene and has since garnered thousands of views on social media.

The Los Angeles entrepreneur said she was casually walking to her front door listening to an audiobook that caught her attention when she noticed the man approaching her.

The touching moments were captured on his home surveillance camera. In the footage, Ricci can be seen getting out of his car as the gate closes behind him. In the video, two men are seen jumping over the gate and trying to chase her. Now, Ricci comes home from the gym and puts his earplugs down with a coffee in hand, completely oblivious to the intruder following him the whole time. Moments later, one of the men tried to attack Ricci at gunpoint. However, he quickly threw his coffee at one of the masked robbers clad in all black. The owner of Hubble Studios who had a CCW permit and was armed, immediately drew his weapon and started shooting at the gunman. Although they tried to escape, they still tried to injure Ricci by returning fire. His wife was on the other side of the door when they tried to shoot him again. Thankfully, neither Ricci nor his wife were injured. After the attack, the family filed a report with the LAPD’s Olympic Division. #losangeles #news #robbery #hiddencarry #surveillance #video #foryou #crime #tiktok

The video shows Ricci holding a cup of hot tea while pulling keys from his pocket before a man wearing a hoodie and pointing a gun runs towards the homeowner. Ricci, who said his tea was too hot to drink at the time, was seen dousing the man in the face with the drink before pulling out his own firearm.

“It burned my hands and I couldn’t wait to go inside the house and put honey in the tea so I could drink it,” said the homeowner. “I punched him in the face [with the tea].”

Ricci was the holder of a concealed carry and immediately reached for his firearm to subdue the suspect. He credits his quick thinking to his years in boxing, explaining he’s no “John Wick, but I can handle myself pretty well.”

“When I went to get the gun, he turned around and he grabbed my sleeve — I guess so I wouldn’t hit him — and when I went to get the gun, I pushed him away. He backed off and went to turn around, and I charged him to catch him,” he said.

The other suspect, however, had drawn his own firearm and “squared off” for a gunfight, Ricci said.

“At that point. I knew I was shot by another guy and I couldn’t see who else was coming in. And this kid also turned around with a gun pointed at me, and I started shooting and they both started shooting,” he said.

Ricci described the two suspects as men possibly in their early 20s. He also noted that the corridor to his front door appeared large in the video, but he and the suspect were only a few feet from each other in an area that was only five and a half feet wide.

Different views of the footage from the gated driveway show the suspects retreating from Ricci’s shooting, with one jumping over the fence, and another running around a car in the driveway.

“One kid shot one, another shot twice. And after that, they jumped over the fence, they kept shooting at me,” he said.

Ricci said his home had previously been targeted by criminals, including in June when burglars broke into his home and his car was broken into several months before the June robbery, he told Fox News Digital.

Ricci said a group of criminals had targeted homes in his neighborhood, explaining they were driving Dodge Chargers without license plates and had targeted his neighbors the night before the shooting.

The homeowner said if it wasn’t for his gun, he and his family could have easily been killed.

“It saved our lives,” he said. “I’m a tough guy … but there’s only so much I can do with a gun. They will whip my gun, they will whip my wife’s gun. They would come into the house and there would be nothing in my house.”

He said he and his wife speculated that if it hadn’t been for the gun, the suspect would have gone in, found nothing of significant value to steal and potentially “tortured” the young family.

He said, living in a liberal city, some might try to vilify and “crucify” legal gun owners, instead of authorities arresting and convicting trespassers.

“I know I didn’t do anything wrong, because I had two chances to shoot both kids from behind. I chose not to. But in the video, it looks like ‘oh, they’re running away.’ They don’t run. They fired back at me,” he said.

He lamented that the LAPD did “sloppy police” work when he filed the report, including not picking up casings scattered near his home.

“I can hardly believe the sloppy police work they do. There are some of them who care … There are a handful of real cops, and then there are others,” he said.

The LAPD provided a press release to Fox News Digital regarding the crime, and added that, “Victims of crimes should always contact detectives with any questions or concerns they may have regarding the investigation.”

Ricci called on the LAPD to arrest criminals and that progressive Los Angeles District Attorney George Gascon stop “picking the wrong people to go after” and prosecute the criminals who have been targeting him and others across LA every day.

“This Gascon is nonsense [the cops] so much so, that he would not take the case either. Even if they find this child … the Gascon won’t care if they shoot a white man,” he said.

Ricci is from the Bronx and says the repeated crimes he’s had to endure in LA have forced him to reconsider living in the city, and even the state.

“I came here for a better life. I don’t want to run away from fear, but I will not stubbornly take care of my family here if it is not safe,” he said, noting that his wife was traumatized by the incident and that Ricci could have died instead of dying. chasing the suspect.

“This is not normal. This is not worth it. I’d rather go back to living in an apartment building in the Bronx. This will not happen there,” he said.
