Death

On December 26, 2023, he died by suicide at the age of 47 after celebrating Christmas with his family. He was reportedly found unresponsive at his residence in Park Belvedere, North Point, in what appeared to be a suicide using burning charcoal. Her son found her unconscious, and the incident was reported to police at about 1:12 p.m. Lai was pronounced dead after being admitted to Ruttonjee Hospital in Hong Kong. No suicide note was found at his residence, and the exact cause of his death remains unconfirmed pending an autopsy. Confirmation of her death came from her first husband, actor and martial artist Kenneth Low (also known as Ken Lo).
