The Vanderpump Rules star has been set to appear on MTV Music and Video Awards, scheduled to air this Sunday. Kent was nominated for the best On Screen team award for the hit show alongside his friends Ariana Madix and Katie Maloney.
The series is also nominated for Best Docu-Reality Show, and Kent and the girls should be there to represent. Additionally, Scheana Shay and Kent were also previously announced as presenters. Kent follows in the footsteps of many other celebrities, including Drew Barrymore.
Many people try to show their support for the author in any way they can, and bowing out of events and walking on picket lines are some of the things that have happened. Lala released a statement regarding her decision not to attend.

Kent stands up for his rights and the rights of others and has done a lot of activism lately. “Though Vanderpump Rules is under the unscripted TV sector, that’s no excuse for me to sit back and carry on as if there isn’t much at stake for every writer and their family.”
He concluded, “We need to protect our creators, and I hope you’ll stand with me and many others as we do so until we get it done (hopefully soon).”

The actor also decided to help in the best way he could. He was all set to host an award show like he did the year before, but he wasn’t looking good, and he knew he was.
“I have listened to the writers, and to truly respect them, I will be moving away from hosting the MTV Movie & TV Awards live in solidarity with the strike,” Barrymore said. “Everything we celebrate and respect about film and television was born out of their creation.”
Barrymore concluded her statement, “And until a resolution is reached, I choose to wait, but I will be watching from home and hope you will join me.”
So far, no one else has publicly announced that they are not attending the event or bowing out of their duties in solidarity, but it’s only Friday. People like Dominique Fishback, Kaia Gerber, Sam Claflin, Suki Waterhouse, Halle Bailey, reality stars like Chrishell Stause, and other VPR cast members like Maloney and Madix still have time to boycott the event or some other big gesture in solidarity with the writers.
