Earlier this week, the Los Angeles Times reported that Childers, who was married to the film’s director from 2009 to 2017, declared that she and her lawyer Ben Valencia had “threatened” her life.

In her declaration, Childers claimed she had contacted the producer of “The Irishman” to inform her of notices from their older daughter’s school about her repeated tardiness while under his care when the situation arose.

The “Aquarius” star, who shares joint legal and physical custody of her two daughters with Emmett, claims that he responded to her email with nasty exchanges she had with her lawyer, among other messages. He claims the conversation between the producer and his lawyer caused him to feel “legitimate fear for his safety and well-being.”

Valencia, a family law attorney, wrote to Emmett, “When are you going to get some real money together so we can get this c–t out once and for all. This is not good for your girls,” to which the 51-year-old replied, “I have no real money for this, and you know that.”

The “You” actress also revealed that the “Midnight in the Switchgrass” producer verbally and emotionally abused her during their 8-year marriage, even going so far as to “put his arms around her.” [her] neck and tell [her] that [she] can never escape it.”

Despite the allegations Childers made against Emmett, his TRO request was denied for lack of evidence, but a hearing to review the matter was set for November 14.

Kent showed her support for Childers in a series of Instagram Story updates where she shared a photo of the actress with the words, “Ambyr’s story is not mine to tell. Many more stories of alleged victims are also not mine to tell. I am horrified by what happened and the alleged emails that were exchanged between R*ndall E*mett and his attorney.”
