The National Weather Service office in Las Vegas recorded 0.88 inches on Friday, which was nearly triple the overall September monthly average and was the wettest September day in 11 years.

Further outside the city, several vehicles were stranded along State Route 127 as heavy rain flooded roads around Baker and Tecopa.

“Emergency management is reporting continued flash flooding across the Las Vegas Valley due to rain that fell in the early afternoon,” wrote NWS Las Vegas at X.

The Las Vegas area should dry out after Saturday night but showers and thunderstorms will move further north into Northern Utah, including Salt Lake City, and southeast Idaho on Sunday.
