Lauren Jauregui, a popular musician, has threatened to leave Twitter after the business made modifications to its verification criteria. Jauregui criticized Twitter’s new CEO, Elon Musk, and threatened to leave the site if they tried to charge him for the blue sign. He posted a screenshot of the Twitter message with the caption:

In a subsequent tweet, he said that if he was asked to pay the blue sign, he would leave the site. In response to the new modification, which he called “unsafe,” he stated:
“So that my account is not hacked. Why would I start paying for something I’ve had for 11 years, especially when it’s a useful tool for my job? This is dangerous, @Twitter. And if this is true, I’m leaving Twitter for wasting all this pay-for-clout nonsense.”
