London and Barrymore began their chat talking about London’s new Netflix movie, “You People.” The film stars London, Jonah Hill, Eddie Murphy, and Nia Long. Barrymore asked if working with co-writer and director Kenya Barris helped make it “safer” to work with someone she trusted.
“I’m really worried about working right now, just grieving and just building a new life so I’m very intentional about who I work with and Kenya just creates a really safe space and so does Jonah,” she said. “This is a new pool that I’m swimming in, so Kenya, knowing him, trusting him and respecting him really helps.”

The description of the film on Netflix reads, “Family and culture collide when two LA millennials from different backgrounds fall in love and face the ultimate relationship test: meeting the parents.”
London plays the main character Amira, who meets Hill’s character and falls in love. When their family gets involved, things start to get complicated for both of them.

The chat then turns into a mother. London is the mother of two sons, Kameron Carter, 13, with rapper Lil Wayne, and Kross Asghedom, 6, with Nipsey Hussle. “I am obsessed with my children. I love them very much,” he said. “They are a big part of why I wake up in the morning and have hope and joy because they deserve so much love and joy.”
When Barrymore asked how she was able to move on from her boyfriend’s tragic death and have the courage to return to work, she explained that it was because of her children.
“Every day is different, and so some days you don’t want to, you just want to lie there,” she said. “My main reason is my children, because they deserve a really happy mother and they deserve joy and they deserve a house with music playing and incense and light coming in the windows. They deserve it. And you know, when you lose someone, they’re on the other side wanting you to get on with life, too.”

In early 2021, London spoke to “Entertainment Tonight” about her first role following the death of her longtime boyfriend. When asked about his role in the Amazon Prime Video movie, “Without Remorse” he said he shot the movie in 2019 right after his death, and it took him a while to heal.
“We recorded it in 2019, I believe, and I’m sorry, my memory is not very good for me after the grief and everything,” he explained. She said that her co-star Michael B. Jordan contacted her to see if she wanted to do the film shortly after her boyfriend’s tragic death.
“Michael contacted me as a friend and he wasn’t sure if I would work again. And he was like, ‘Look, I’m not sure if this is what you want to do, but I have to follow my gut, I have to ask you if you can read the script.'”
