Lea Michele is days away from making her Broadway debut in “Funny Girl.”
And since she’s going to be THE ‘funny girl’ that means all eyes, headlines and phone cameras will be on her waiting for her to screw up.

Lea doesn’t have the best track record of good behavior on set. In fact, when she was on “Glee” she was known as the bad girl on set and many called her ‘DIVA.’
In 2020, Samantha Ware caused Lea a stir after she tweeted in support of Black Lives Matter and the killing of George Floyd. The tweet has been deleted.

Samantha responded to Lea’s tweet, writing, “LMAO REMEMBER WHEN YOU MADE MY FIRST TELEVISION GIG A LIVE HELL?!?! BECAUSE I WILL NEVER FORGET. I BELIEVE YOU TOLD EVERYONE THAT IF YOU GOT THE CHANCE, YOU WOULD BE “SO IN MY HAIR!” AMONG OTHER TRAUMATIC MICROAGGRESSIONS THAT MAKE ME QUESTION A CAREER IN HOLLYWOOD.”
Lea’s friend revealed to Position said QUOTE, “He had a real wake-up call. It’s not easy to hear people talk about you this way. It was surprising.”

It seems that even two years after this all failed, Lea still felt the need to do damage control and explain herself.
In a new interview with The New York Times, the mother of one admits, “I have my edge. I work very hard.”
He didn’t stop the defense there.

Lea Says Her ‘Perfectionism’ & ‘Edge’ Leads To Blind Spots
“I leave no room for error,” said the 36-year-old. “That level of perfectionism, or that pressure of perfectionism, left me with a lot of blind spots.”
Lea stated that she has changed the way she approaches her work given her past “bad girl” reputation.
“I really understand the importance and value of being a leader now,” he explained. “That means not only going out and doing a good job when the cameras are rolling, but also when they’re not. And that’s not the most important thing to me.”
Recently, reports came out that Lea’s former “Glee” co-star, Jane Lynch, quit “Funny Girl” following news that she would be joining the production.

Rumors swirled that Lynch quit because he didn’t want to work with Lea.
The “Best in Show” cast released a statement to Playbill and explained why he left.
She played the role of Mrs. Brice, the mother of the main character, Fanny Brice.
Fanny was played by Beanie Feldstein (“Booksmart”) until she was diagnosed with tonsillitis. Feldstein had to end his run with the production too early
Feldstein’s last show was on July 31; however, he was originally set for a September release date.
Before taking on her role and Mrs. Brice, the actress had a vacation planned that ran from August 15 – August 23.
Jane Lynch Leaves “Funny Girl” Ahead of Lea Michele’s Debut

Lynch’s final curtain call was on August 14.
He was initially supposed to step out on leave and return to finish the show; however, Lynch is attending the Creative Arts Emmy Awards in LA on September 1st.
Instead of going back and forth between Los Angeles and New York City, Lynch decided it would be best if he called it a day on August 14th.
In a statement to PlaybillLynch made it clear there was absolutely no behind-the-scenes drama on “Funny Girl.”
“I had a vacation on August 14, and then I had five shows after that, and it was a six-hour flight, so I thought, ‘let’s get it over with now,'” he explained. “It has nothing to do with not wanting to see Lea. I sent a message with Lea. He and I are fine. I’m really excited for him.”
