When McSweeney filed suit against Bravo and its executive producer, Andy Cohen, she never expected so many women to downplay the pain she allegedly endured.

Her publicist recently shared her thoughts on the backlash, explaining that she just wants to find justice for her own situation.

In her surprise legal filing, McSweeney accused “RHONY” producers of exploiting her alcohol issues for ratings and claimed Cohen promoted a dysfunctional behind-the-scenes culture at Bravo.

Although several Housewives have denied these claims, a rep for the aggrieved reality TV star told Page Six:

“Leah never claimed to speak for anyone else. She… filed this suit based on her own life experiences. The claims in Leah’s lawsuit are about Leah’s experiences at Bravo and Leah’s experiences alone.”

“He’s not trying to tell anyone else the truth, but he’s not going to let anyone deny his truth,” the publicist asserted, implying that Cohen’s defenders shouldn’t try to silence McSweeney because the situation never happened to them.

McSweeney’s representatives did not mince their words against his critics, stating the backlash he received would not have happened in a different workspace. Publicist The Married to the Mob founder said:

“Imagine a female employee making allegations similar to Leah’s about drug and alcohol use at any other major company — from Facebook to Coca-Cola to UPS or wherever. Is this the reaction? But because [Bravo is] entertainment brands, somehow people think it’s okay to dismiss and downplay stories of mistreatment of women in the workplace.”

One of McSweeney’s attorneys, Gary Adelman, echoed similar sentiments to his representative. In a separate interview, he insisted that only legal opinions about Cohen and Bravo mattered in the case.

“It doesn’t matter what people say or think – that Andy is a good guy, or that you should expect to drink [on Bravo shows]or you should expect this behavior,” Adelman explained, adding:

“What matters is what the law thinks about it. And we believe the law thinks this is wrong.”

He claims his penchant for illegal drugs is well-known on Bravo and in the Housewives franchise, with some of his partners receiving special benefits.

“Cohen tended to provide the Housewives with whom he used cocaine with better treatment and [makes them appear more agreeably [in] edit [of their shows],” the legal document claims. However, it does not name the reality TV star in question.

McSweeney repeatedly slammed Cohen’s alleged drug use in his lawsuit, asserting that, “Cohen intentionally used cocaine with his employees to further promote a workplace culture that thrived on drug and alcohol use, which led to a failure to accommodate employees with disabilities and trying to remain independent material.”

As for Bravo, the reality TV giant is being called out for promoting such terrible culture. He stated that they did not do much to stop the system of alcohol and drug use but also allegedly ignored the behavior of sexual predators.

In her allegations, Leah McSweeney highlighted the case of a producer employed by Shed Media — the production company that makes several “Real Housewives” shows.
