Career
Leena Maria Paul made her acting debut in 2009 with the Malayalam crime thriller “Red Chillies.” The film is directed by Shaji Kailas, and Leena plays a supporting character named ‘Roya Kareena’ in the film. Leena got a chance to act with Malayalam superstar Mohanlal in the film. Next, she appeared in the Malayalam language film “Cobra” opposite Mammootty, Lalu Alex, Kaniha, Padmapriya, and several others. He also appeared in Saji Surendran’s comedy film “Husband in Goa” (2012).
Leena Maria Paul gained attention after acting in John Abraham’s debut political action thriller “Madras Cafe.” The Bollywood film was released in theaters on 23 August 2013. Leena played the role of a RAW Decoder in the film.
Fraudulent Activities
Leena Maria Paul has been involved in fraudulent activities since her entry into Bollywood. In 2013, Leena was arrested in a case of siphoning off Rs. 19 crore from the Teynampet branch of Canara Bank. Her husband, Sukesh Chandrasekhar, was also arrested in the same case. Police officers seized a number of expensive cars and 81 expensive watches from the couple’s residence in Banglore.
In another fraud case, Leena Maria Paul and Sukesh Chandrasekhar were arrested for extorting money from an individual posing as the grandson of the former chief minister. The couple sought bail in the case and later moved to Mumbai.
Leena Maria Paul, while living in Mumbai, planned another scam with her husband. Both offer to pay at least 20 percent monthly returns to investors for their investment of Rs 5000 to Rs 5 lakh. Later, the two were arrested by the Economic Offenses Wing of Mumbai from Goregaon for being involved in a Rs 10 crore scam. Dhananjay Kamalakar, Joint Commissioner of Police (EOW), explained the incident as,
We received information that a group of individuals are convincing people to pay anything between Rs 5000 and Rs 5 lakh, promising that they will get at least 20 percent return on their investment every month. They also promise returns as high as 300 percent. Our information indicates that they are planning to flee the city in a few days, and we are arresting them.”
In 2018, Leena Maria Paul made headlines after a shootout incident took place at her beauty salon in Kochi. The incident took place on December 15, 2018. According to reports, underworld gangster Ravi Pujari tried to extort money from Leena, and a heated argument ensued between them. Things get worse when Ravi fires a gun outside his beau’s house.
In 2021, the Economic Offenses Wing of the Delhi Police arrested Leena Maria Paul along with her husband, Sukesh Chandrasekhar, in the case of cheating Fortis Healthcare promoter Shivinder Mohan Singh’s wife, Aditi Singh, for Rs. 200 crores. Ms. Singh registered an FIR on August 7, 2021 against a man posing as a senior Law Ministry official who had offered to help secure bail for her husband in exchange for a large sum of money. According to Leena’s lawyer Maria Paul, she is not involved in any case, and she, for her part, said,
The prime accused has been in Tihar jail for years. There are two FIRs in this case and I have no role in either case. All the properties he enjoyed, according to the prosecution, were sealed. I have been asked to come to Delhi and join the investigation without notice, I do not question it.”
