Legal scholar Johnathan Turley has become the latest victim of “swatting” when a 911 call was made falsely reporting someone had been shot at his home in Virginia.
“Yes, I was beaten this afternoon. Unfortunately, it is a manifestation of our age of anger,” the George Washington University law professor said in a statement on Friday.
“However, we are grateful to the Fairfax police officers who were very professional and supportive in responding to this disturbance,” said Turley, who writes frequent op-eds for The Post.
Law enforcement responded to Turley’s Fairfax County home after an individual made a false emergency call.
The Fairfax County Police Department confirmed that the caller falsely said someone had been shot at the Turley address.
The incident comes a day after Turley spoke out against “swatting” during an interview with Fox News Digital.
“This is a crime that is growing rapidly because there is not enough prevention,” Turley told the outlet.

Several conservatives have been victims of “swatting” over the past week.
The police were called to the home of Rep. Majorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) on Christmas Day after a man called a suicide hotline claiming to have shot his girlfriend at the right-wing politician’s home and threatening to kill himself, according to police.
Georgia Republican state senators John Albers, Kay Kirkpatrick and Clint Dixon, as well as Democrat Kim Jackson, were also “hit” on Christmas Day, according to Fox 5 Atlanta.
Republican Georgia Lt. Gov. Burt Jones said Thursday that his home was “hit” and “a bomb threat was called in” to his district office.
Rep. Brandon Williams (R-NY) had his New York home “hit” on Christmas Day just hours after Greene’s home was also visited by local law enforcement.
Sen. Rick Scott (R-Fla.) became the third GOP member of Congress to be “hit” during the holiday break this week when police responded to his home in Naples, Fla., on Wednesday.
Boston Mayor Michelle Wu, a Democrat, has been “beaten” two weeks after she hosted a controversial holiday party for non-white city council members.
Police also responded to Rep. Ohio Republican Kevin D. Miller on the day after Christmas after a false report of a shooting, according to local authorities.
