Presley’s mother, Priscilla, confirmed her daughter’s passing in a statement
Presley was pronounced dead after being taken to West Hills Hospital and Medical Center, according to our report on his death. Emergency personnel performed CPR and administered epinephrine before his death.
Priscilla, 77, confirmed her only daughter’s death in a statement to People on Thursday night.
“It is with a heavy heart that I must share the sad news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us. She is the most passionate strong loving woman I have ever known. We ask for privacy as we try to deal with this profound loss. Thank you for the love and prayers. At this time there will be no further comment,” Priscilla concluded the statement. He was seen rushing into the hospital and talking to an unidentified man, The Blast reports.
Presley’s father died of a heart attack when he was in his early forties. The King of Rock and Roll was just 42 years old when he died at Graceland, his home in Memphis, in August 1977.
Legendary Pop Band Blondie Is Among Celebrity Tributes To Presley
Blondie, the NYC-based band that dominated the charts for a time in the seventies before breaking up in 1982, posted a photo to their Instagram account, featuring Lisa Marie. The band released their second album the same year Elvis passed away.
Blonde frontwoman Debbie Harry can be seen posing with Presley, and artist Rob Roth in the photo, which was taken in 2003. Harry also stated the photo was taken in Los Angeles.
“I am so saddened to hear of Lisa Marie’s passing,” Harry, 77, captioned the photo. “She is a very beautiful person. God willing.”
Presley has followed in his father’s musical footsteps. He recorded three albums, the first of which was called “To Whom It May Concern” and was released the same year the photo was taken. He followed that with 2005’s “Now What” and released his last album in 2012 called “Storm & Grace.”
“This is me. That record was me,” Presley said of his first album two decades ago. “Every song is me. You’re going to see who I really am and not what the tabloids say or whatever other people say about me,” he concluded the interview with People per Yahoo!
