According to Deadline, Showtime has opted to cancel the horror drama series Let the Right One In after just one season, though it may be picked up by other streaming services. According to the paper, the sitcom is a casualty of the Showtime-Paramount+ merger. From October 9 to December 11, 2022, the first season aired for 10 episodes. It was produced by Andrew Hinderaker and is based on John Ajvide Lindqvist’s Swedish novel Lt den rätte komma in. In 2008, the novel was made into a film of the same name.
The story follows Mark Kane, a single father who takes care of his 12-year-old daughter Eleanor, who turned into a vampire 10 years ago. The pair continue to be seen hunting for a cure, hiding and traveling across the country until landing in New York City, where Eleanor meets and connects with Isiah Cole, a 12-year-old boy.

LET THE RIGHT ONE IN follows Mark (Bichir) and his daughter Eleanor (Baez), whose life was irrevocably changed ten years ago when she was turned into a vampire. Eleanor lives a closed existence, allowed out only at night, after being locked up at the age of 12, while her father tries his best to give her the human blood she needs to survive.”

“LET THE RIGHT PEOPLE IN will overturn genre assumptions, providing a naturalistic lens on human frailty, courage and compassion,” the press release said.
Executive producers include Andrew Hinderaker, Marty Adelstein, Becky Clements, Seith Mann, Alex Yves Brunner, Simon Oakes, and Carl Molinder. Meanwhile, the series was produced by Demián Bichir, Jamie Crowell, and Russ Hammonds.
Colossal Productions, Hammer Film Productions, Tomorrow Studios and Showtime Networks are among the production firms involved, and it is released by Paramount Global Distribution Group. Music for the show was provided by Dan Romer and Giosué Greco.
