My lockout experience was like no other. My father contracted the Coronavirus and was immediately hospitalized. I thank God that he has recovered from this deadly virus and returned to our home. I learned many things like how important my family is to me. I used to ask my father a lot of questions like how he felt. He told me how bad people were in the hospital. Everyone was struggling to breathe.
My mother is a doctor and she is a corona warrior. I hardly saw him at home because he was told not to come home until he was done with his work. After a month I saw my mother but she was in quarantine for 14 days. I used to take care of my mother even though I wasn’t allowed near her. It hurts to see everyone in such a state.
My friend’s father is a policeman so we used to talk through video calls to each other. My parents were surprised at how understanding my brother and I were when they needed it the most. For me, the confinement experience was painful and full of learning experiences. I learned that I could draw; I have very good taste in movies and music.
My grandparents and I became close friends because they took care of me and my brother when my parents were battling the Coronavirus. My mother before leaving for duty explained to us what happened and what we should do to be safe from Covid 19.
She shed tears when she left us and it was heartbreaking. I realize that my responsibility as a brother is more than anyone now. My sister used to throw tantrums to see my mother, thankfully she listened to me when I bargained for my sweets and toys with her.
I made a deep connection with my brother because we used to spend a lot of time together. Me my brother and my grandparents used to play carom board in the evening which is a good time.

One thing I can relate to is my creativity. I don’t know how many things I learned from youtube in this period of time. I am not a fan of playing video games instead I like watching videos. There are many more great experiences like I made new bird friends. One day a bird just sat at my window. It’s like asking me to feed him. I fed him and from that day he often visited my window and sat waiting for his feed. I took many videos of the bird and even showed it to my friends.
My friends are amazed to see how animals are also coping with the bad situation of the Coronavirus. That day we learn to help other life that exists with us on this beautiful planet. I also learned how much harm humans can produce knowingly and unknowingly. Humans are responsible for their own fate that we are experiencing during the Coronavirus. Everywhere we see death and suddenly even children become mature.

I love being outside and this is something that bothers me. I was desperate to go to school and meet my friends but it seemed impossible. My mom always calls us every day and we discuss every little thing like what I’m doing all day. It was a stressful time for all of us but by the grace of God, we got through these tough times.
We saw generosity everywhere, we also saw how nature can bloom if we don’t interfere, the river flows back to its glory and I also learned that the ozone layer has started to recover. I learned many things that I will keep with me until my last breath. I will help others and will respect my parents.
