Sources claim the entertainer was told to wait, delaying her red carpet appearance. According to an informant, the Georgian was threatened because he was a “black queer artist.” For 20 minutes, the media personality was unable to leave his vehicle as TIFF security searched the alleged bomb site.

Once they clarified that the threat was a hoax, the “Industry Baby” hitmaker was allowed to join her colleagues on the red carpet. Due to the delay, the screening reportedly started at 10:30pm Speaking about the play, a TIFF spokesperson revealed that the authorities had informed them about the bomb.

“Earlier this evening, we were notified by the Toronto Police Service of an investigation surrounding the red carpet for the screening of ‘Lil Nas X: Long Live Montero’,” explained the rep. However, the spokesperson denied sources’ claims about the Grammy winner as the intended target.

“Our standard security measures remain in place at this time, and inspections are being initiated with little delay. To our knowledge, this is a general threat and not directed at the film or the artist,” the individual claimed. A representative for the Toronto Police Service echoed similar sentiments about the attack.
