Lil Nas X will debut his documentary, “Lil Nas X: Long Live Montero,” at the upcoming Toronto Film Festival next month.
The documentary was reportedly shot over 60 days with unparalleled access to the creation and performance of the Grammy award-winning rapper’s acclaimed “Long Live Montero” show.
Per Deadline, the production crew consists of Dave Sirulnick, Caryn Capotosto, Saul Levitz, Adam Leber, Adriana Arce, and Gee Roberson. Meanwhile, Meredith Bennett, Jon Kamen, Tom Mackay, Krista Wegener, and Frank Scherma also make the list as executive producers.
Filmmaker Carlos López Estrada helmed the film, bringing his brilliant talent, previously seen in “Blindspotting,” “Raya and the Last Dragon,” and well-executed music videos for Billie Eilish, Katy Perry, and Carly Rae Jepsen.
He is joined as co-director by Zac Manuel, who helmed “Time,” “Alone,” “America,” and “This Body.”

TIFF CEO Cameron Bailey also had words of praise for the documentary ahead of its debut in September.
“Lil Nas X: Long Live Montero is a triumphant ode to the incredible power of self-expression, music and identity,” he said, per Deadline.
He added, “In this groundbreaking documentary, we witness Lil Nas X challenging boundaries and reshaping the artistic landscape. The film’s captivating journey underscores the profound impact of Lil Nas X, who fearlessly unites audiences through the universal language of music.”

News of the documentary comes more than a month after the rapper was announced as the latest global ambassador for footwear giant Crocs. The exact value of the deal remains uncertain, although indications point to a potential value in the millions of dollars.
“I’m always passionate about taking things to the next level, so I’m thrilled to partner with Crocs on this new height collection,” Lil Nas X said in a statement, per Diversity. “This new style really hurts, and I know everyone is going to love it!”
Some of the new offerings include the Siren Clog, the Siren Chain Clog, and the Mega Crush Color Dip Clog, all of which have very innovative designs.
Regarding the partnership, Croc said their collaboration with the rapper represents “bold and unbridled self-expression and welcoming everyone to really come as they are.”
They have previously successfully collaborated with other musicians such as SZA, Diplo, Post Malone and Justin Bieber.
