In April, people close to the production told Rolling stone that “The Idol” is full of “torture porn” and “rape fantasy,” which is a precedent for recent criticism of the show.
Rumors that the set was “poisonous” also circulated at the time, which contradicted Depp’s statement to New York Post in March, where he called Levinson “the best director I’ve ever worked with” for “so many reasons.”
