Lindsie Chrisley Breaks Silence On Todd Chrisley’s Sentence With Champagne Post

The Chrisley family was dealt a major blow on Monday night when the patriarch and parents, Todd and Julie Chrisley, were sentenced to federal prison for their felony tax evasion and bank fraud.

A jury found the “Chrisley Knows Best” star guilty in June, and they finally learned their fate yesterday. However, with the news of Todd and Julie’s sentence, their children and loved ones reacted to the incident.

Todd’s daughter, Lindsie Chrisley, with whom he had an estranged relationship, broke her silence on the scandal, describing it as “bad timing.”

Minutes after her father and his wife were sentenced, Lindsie took to her Instagram Story to show her fans how she dealt with the verdict. The reality star uploaded a short clip showing she wasn’t alone when the bad news was revealed.

The clip posted to Bruno Mars’ “Count On Me” shows two of Lindsie’s female friends in her bedroom with calm faces. He captioned the post, “Best girlfriends show up in tough times with hugs and champagne ? ✨ ? ❤️.” The mother of one, however, did not show her face in the video update.

Lindsie isn’t the only member of the Chrisley clan to have reacted to the news of Todd and Julie’s sentencing. Her half-sister Savannah Chrisley, who has a more positive relationship with her parents, shared a faint message of hope.

Breaking the silence as well on her Instagram Stories, she shared a quote from religious leader Pastor Kimberly Jones Pothier, who goes by the alias Real Talk Kim. The message reads, “Noah did not stop building the ark to explain himself to all those who doubted and hated him. Continue building your ark. The rain will speak.”

It’s no surprise that the 25-year-old shared a biblically inspired quote during the tumultuous time, given that her family is deeply religious.

This Is How Long Todd & Julie Will Spend Behind Bars

The Blast shared the news that on November 21, Todd and Julie were sentenced to 19 years in prison. The “Chrisley Confessions” host was sentenced to 12 years in prison with 16 months of probation, while his wife received a lighter sentence of just seven years plus 16 months of probation.

Following their convictions in June after being charged with 11 counts of tax evasion, bank and wire fraud, and conspiracy, prosecutors demanded the popular television personality face up to 30 years in prison. Todd is set to face a sentence of between 17 and 22 years, while Julie will face between 10 and 13 years.

However, their lawyers appealed for a reduced sentence. As you know, the power couple was found guilty of fraud by using bank loans and tax evasion. The couple reportedly submitted false documents to get a loan from a small bank that was unable to do due diligence due to their celebrity status.

The couple also created a production company called 7C’s Productions, of which Julie is the owner on paper. Through the organization, which served as a loan company for all the money earned from their hot reality show, Todd and Julie were able to hide and falsify numbers to help them avoid paying taxes.

According to the sentencing memorandum, prosecutors claimed, “The seriousness of Chrisley’s crime cannot be understated. After they defrauded a community bank out of tens of millions of dollars, they hid millions of dollars from the IRS, all while watching television to brag about how much they spent on designer clothes. And when they learn that they are being investigated for the crime, they involve their own family members and friends to obstruct justice.”

In June, after her father’s guilty verdict was announced, The Blast reported that Lindsie shared her thoughts with a cryptic bible quote. Next to a verse from Psalm 23, he wrote, “I will live through this valley.” He then highlighted another passage from Psalm 25 which reads, “In You, LORD, my God, I put my trust. I believe you; do not let me be put to shame, and do not let my enemies prevail over me.”

Next to it, he wrote, “Ask God for protection and peace,” and “Satan knows exactly when to pounce.”

In an Instagram Story update, she gave an official statement that read, “I know most of you expected to hear from me on my podcast this week as I took time off to be with my family last week. The outcome was not what I had hoped or prayed for, and I am very sad for myself, my son and my family as a whole.”
