Lisa Guerrero was a sports reporter when she suffered a miscarriage on live TV. She chose to move on and is now sharing her story.

Before moving to Inside Edition as their Chief Investigative Correspondent, Guerrero had a brief stint as a sports reporter for Monday Night Football between 2003 and 2004. The job required him to interview players and coaches outside.
It was early in Guerrero’s career when she realized she was having a miscarriage right before she was set to go live. He details the stirring story in his new memoir “Warrior: My Path to Being Brave.”
“I was doing these big sit-down interviews with tough, tough athletes who weren’t very open with the media — Barry Bonds, Shaquille O’Neal, Alex Rodriguez — and they opened up to me,” he said. Shows that the goal is “to be the Barbara Walters of sports.”

As the commentator kills her at work, the backlash from hateful male sports reporters and commentators begins to take a toll on her and her body. He hates that they insinuate sexual acts are involved with “how can I possibly get all these big athletes talking to me.”
During recording Monday Night Football, she lost the baby who was about 8 to 12 weeks old. “I went ahead and made my report,” he shares in the memoir. He launched into the horrifying story.
“When I felt moisture between my legs, I thought, ‘Oh, I’m on my period.’ And then I remembered I was pregnant. I had a miscarriage! I can feel the blood leaking out.” As he was about to run to the bathroom, the microphone in his ear said, “They’re going to throw at you.”
Guerrero gets into action. “I deliver my direct report. I was dizzy and nauseous but reminded myself to stand up straight,” he explained.

Lisa described the moment as painful. “The pain was excruciating,” and it eventually began to affect Guerrero’s report.
“I heard myself mispronounce the player’s name and knew I would hear it later. As soon as I finished, I raced off to interview the coach. Then I went to the bathroom. As I sat on the toilet, I couldn’t believe the blood that was pouring out of me. It had seeped through my pants. I stuffed a bunch of paper towels into my underwear.”
And believe it or not, Guerrero went back out and kept working. The book promises to reveal more shocking details about Guerrero’s life and long career as a journalist. He has been promoting his memoir on his social media pages.
“Happy Monday! Next week everyone will know my secret ?,” she teased her followers on IG. Her book is less than a week away from release. When sharing details about her book with her followers, she wrote, “My memoir is about my journey overcoming challenges personal and professional to develop my inner superhero and how you can too! ??”
