In September 2019, Tucker, a native of Clovis North High School, made an important announcement via Twitter, revealing his decision to commit to the Long Beach State University 49ers for his college basketball career following his graduation and the conclusion of his senior season.
Despite interest from other big-name programs like Fresno State, Hawaii and Cal State Northridge, Tucker ultimately chose Long Beach State because of their commitment to allowing him to express himself freely on the court.
