‘Love Is Blind’ Alum Shares ‘6 Things To Remember’ Ahead Of Season 5

“Love Is Blind” season 2 contestant Nick Thompson has a few things he wants his followers to know before they watch season 5 of the popular Netflix reality dating show.

The self-proclaimed mental health advocate has started the Unscripted Cast Advocacy Network (UCAN) with former cast member Jeremy Hartwell to “provide mental health and legal support to past, present and future reality TV cast members.”

With season 5 of “Love Is Blind” set to premiere on Netflix any day now, Nick took to Instagram via his own Instagram account and the UCAN Foundation account to share six things he wants his followers to remember before watching the latest season, which looks set to be more faster to meme than ever.

“These are 6 things I want you to remember while watching Love is Blind S5,” she wrote in the caption, listing “Cast members are human first” as the first thing she wants fans to remember. He went on to say, “Be kind to them on social media and in real life. A switch flips, and overnight your whole life changes. It’s awkward, scary and challenging to navigate. Show some grace for any mistakes.”

He also warned that “Episodes should be viewed for entertainment purposes only,” adding, “One of the most important things to remember is that you are viewing content that can be edited, manipulated and presented in any way for storyline purposes. Each season has villain for a reason… because it’s presented that way.”

Nick also went on to point out allegations from Jeremy’s lawsuit against Netflix, claiming that “Everyone is stressed, sleep-deprived and out of their normal comfort zone.” While it’s true that all the contestants have gone out of their daily routine in the pod, Nick and Jeremy have also claimed that they’ve been deprived of food and water during filming.

“The stress of your disrupted schedule and lack of sleep during production puts extreme stress on your body and mind, which can lead to erratic behavior. I don’t condone bad behavior, but try not to jump to mercy,” Nick wrote before he went on to state that “It’s possible their mental health has been compromised.”

It’s unclear if she’s talking to fans of the show or “Love Is Blind” contestants for this one, as she wrote, “If you have a therapist and find the time, you can see or talk to them. During the pod, you’re isolated from friends and family and must rely on producers or fellow actors for support when making life-changing decisions that will be broadcast to the world.”

She went on to write, “Filming is a constant pressure cooker of life-changing decisions,” before listing questions like “Will I get along with my co-stars? Will I like anyone on the other side? Will I fall in love? Will I get engaged? Will we be physically attracted to each other? Will we be compatible sexually? Can we live together?”

“How will we connect with family and friends? Are we going to get married? What happens when the plan falls through? How will my life change?” he continued. “Stress cooks on and on in different ways for couples and individuals.”

The last thing he said was that fans of the show “only see a small, structured time in their lives,” adding, “There’s more to the story than what you see on a reality show. Thousands of hours and context are left on the cutting room floor. Save that [mind].”

Nick quickly disabled comments on his Instagram post, though he added a hashtag that not only included “Love Is Blind,” but “The Ultimatum” as well. He also added hashtags for SAG-AFTRA and the writer’s strike, as well as the “Love Is Blind” lawsuit.

In August, Nick claimed that he was facing homelessness, claiming that he couldn’t find a job after the allegations he made against Netflix since appearing on the show in season 2.
