In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Jackie said that she broke up with Marshall before she went on a date with Josh. However, she admitted that Marshall was actually getting better at his tux when he decided to end their engagement.
“When Marshall was in his suit, I wasn’t there at the time,” he explained. “The date was on a different day. While he was at the suit, I was actually in the townhouse waiting for him to come back so I could break up with him.”

“And when I went on the date with Josh, I had already had that conversation with Marshall. We have already separated,” he said.
Although their split was acrimonious, Jackie insists that she made the right decision choosing Marshall in the pod and has no ill will towards him. “No beef, I don’t have a problem with him,” Jackie said. “If he has a problem with me then that’s fine, but I’ve moved on and I’m not worried about that situation anymore.”
