After news broke of the “Love Is Blind” star’s decision to file for divorce from husband Nick Thompson, whom she met and fell in love with on the Netflix reality show, last month, Ruhl was very transparent about the impact of the divorce. has suffered from his mental health.

The 29-year-old has devoted much of her social media activity to displaying her true feelings while dealing with great grief in the public eye.

In an article from February right after the second season premiered on Netflix, we followed Ruhl’s candid Instagram post where he responded to critics and tried to shed some light on the panic attacks he suffered on the show; Thompson struggled with responding to Ruhl’s needs in a productive way.

“One thing that has been inaccurately speculated about is the panic attack I had in Mexico,” she wrote in the post, explaining that she had recounted the traumatic experience to Thompson as best she could at this time.

Ruhl then provided further insight into the inspiration for panic attacks.

“As I lay there in pain, I began to get into my own head and wonder if I had shared too much too soon, and I began to relive events that I had suppressed all this time. This caused me to have an attack panicked. and I went into the closet so no one could see me in such a public setting,” she wrote.

She recently shared that she cries about her divorce every day, and she’s also discussed how she’ll “never be perfect” and also takes responsibility for past mistakes.

Writing Her Way To Healing: How Ruhl Incorporated Journaling Into Her Mental Health Journey

Earlier this afternoon, Ruhl gave her Instagram followers a glimpse into a previously unseen side of her mental health journey; he exposed not only revealed that he often relies on the practice of keeping a journal, but he has also dabbled in songwriting for a long time!

“I have connected with so many of you who relate to my story and experience riding the mental health wave,” she captioned her Instagram post, “I previously shared lyrics and voice notes I wrote when I was 15 about giving up and why it shouldn’t be an option. It’s something I hear again and again when I’m having extreme emotions.”

Ruhl went on to reveal, “Because of that, I’ve decided to share some excerpts from my journal. I’m going to release three songs related to my past and current mental health struggles that I wrote from the age of 15. -29. I’m going to release ‘ The Way Down’ first, because so many of you messaged me that you related to the lyrics…”
