‘Love Is Blind’s Chelsea Griffin Reveals The Moment Where She Had To ‘Walk Away’ From Fiancé

“Love Is Blind” viewers watched Chelsea Griffin form a once-in-a-lifetime relationship with her fiance Kwame Appiah during season four.

Viewers have seen the two weather many storms on their journey to the altar. During this season’s 11-episode run, Griffin and Appiah deal with many real-life issues, including absentee parents and conflicting timelines about the ‘right’ time to have children.

Griffin and Appiah have made it past this on-screen hurdle, but a particular issue in their relationship caused Griffin a lot of heartbreak and grief: her man’s ‘pod age’ relationship with Micah Lussier.

Lussier and Appiah form an initial relationship in the pod before choosing their respective partners, (Lussier is engaged to Paul Peden), and revisit their past relationships several times throughout the season.

Griffin recently opened up about how she felt about her man’s frequent conversations with Lussier, and how she felt after realizing how important Appiah’s relationship with Lussier was. Love may or may not be blind, but Griffin insists on sharing how it can also be heartbreaking.

Griffin isn’t the only part of the couple to have openly discussed Appiah’s relationship since the season premiered. Appiah and the other guys recently sat down with Extra TV host and ‘Bachelor’ alum, Rachel Lindsay.

When asked about his relationship with Lussier, Appiah described seeing him for the first time as “interesting, for sure.”

He added, “I think at that point, I was at a point where I knew I had made the right decision. It’s always going to be interesting to take all the emotions that are ‘there’ and apply them to people that are ‘there,’ and when that happens, there’s a kind of shock, so I thought there would be a little bit of a mind-bending, and that happened,” explained Appiah.

“And it made me think like, ‘Wow, this is really interesting, it’s actually happening, I see this person,’ and I definitely have strong feelings for this person, but overall, it puts me and Chelsea in the same space. , I know that the energy is different, and I know that it is the right energy,” he added. “So I’m very happy with the way things are going out there,” he concluded.

As for Lussier, he describes his relationship with Appiah as “extraordinary”, but his intuition drives him towards a relationship with Peden.

“The moment I chose Paul over Kwame, I never looked back on that. I know we had a few moments, and going on our way, we were put in a situation where we had to see each other. You know, seeing exes is always a bit weird, I think it is for both of us. I know some of my interactions with her may have been a little confusing, maybe she misunderstood, I think maybe Chelsea did, and I think it just comes down to, you know, understanding me as a human being, and how we all manage to do that in such a short period of time? ” he thought.

What Does Chelsea Griffin Have to Say?

Her man’s “strong feelings” for his ex-girlfriend didn’t exactly please Griffin, to say the least.

She discussed the experience she felt after watching Appiah’s relationship with Lussier unfold on screen with E! News.

“The way I describe it is like you’re just standing in life, you’re standing in your power, you’re doing great and someone comes up behind you and stabs you,” he explained. “That’s what it feels like to watch it. It’s a bit jarring and difficult.”

Griffin added, “I guess I didn’t realize how deep their relationship was. I am very disappointed,” he revealed. “I had to go several times. I am a real person and I have feelings.”

But, Griffin was then able to reframe his thinking about their relationship in a thoughtful and important way.

“It’s juvenile male behavior,” he said, describing Appiah’s ongoing discussions with Lussier. “You have to be able to stop it because it’s lying to you. It is not true. I think he needs to realize that. In some ways, Micah and the relationship they have is what he wants to hear, but I’m really what he needs to hear.”

The two’s wedding will be featured in this week’s season finale, which will be held on Friday, April 14! Will viewers hear Chelsea Griffin and Kwame Appiah say ‘I want?’
