‘Love Is Blind’s Marshall Glaze Begs Fans To Allow Him Grace For Viral Tweet Controversy

Marshall Glaze doesn’t find lasting love with his ex-fiancée in “Love Is Blind.” The reality star popped the question to Jackie Bonds, but the 27-year-old dental assistant eventually called off their engagement and later began dating Glaze’s ex-boyfriend Josh Demas.

Glaze, also 27, found himself in the hot seat earlier this week after problematic tweets from a decade ago began to surface. The reality star took to Twitter to apologize for the controversial tweet and explained that she had been a “sad teenager” when she sent the tweet. Many of the tweets were targeted at black women.

The blast covered Glaze’s initial reaction. A day later, Glaze took to his Instagram story and pleaded with his followers to allow him the space to grow and the grace to move on from the past.

How Glaze Apologizes For Past Tweets?

I saw a lot of my old tweets pop up from years ago. This applies to almost everyone in the public eye. It happened to my cousin and I know it will happen to me.

Let me explain:

Glaze tweeted his apology on Thursday, April 20.

“I saw a lot of my old tweets coming up from years ago,” the marketing manager began her thread. “This happens to almost everyone in the public eye. It happened to my cousin, and I knew it would happen to me,” continued Glaze. His cousin is the National Bachelor, Justin Glaze.

“Let me be clear,” he continued, “Like I said to someone before, things have changed. I was a sad teenager with a lot of issues when I tweeted a lot of those things. I’ve grown up and don’t think or feel the same way. Anyone with something to hide would delete it, but I left it for a reason.”

“I also have the opportunity to go back and delete it. I chose not to,” he wrote. “It is my development as an individual. As a human being. Those old tweets are my proof that I have grown. I think God gives the opportunity to break down, find clarity and forgiveness, and grow into a better person,” Glaze concluded.

Responses are varied.

Actor Angelo Martinez tweeted, “I don’t know you, but I applaud you for your transparency and accountability. I’m not the offended party, because I’m not a black woman, but I want to know, have you ever uncovered things that inspired you to think and publish things about black women?” asked Martinez.

Activist Allen Morris answered, “You can grow; you are human, but where is your apology and remorse for the way you discuss black women? If you have a black sister, think about how they feel. Don’t vent unless it includes an outright apology,” he said. “You are a blatantly anti-black woman, be honest in your apology to black women.”

“Why do teenagers hit black women and girls?” one of Glaze’s followers ask. “We need to stop sweeping it under the rug and making everyone apologize and do something to break the cycle,” they concluded.

A day after our report about Glaze’s tweet was published, she returned to Instagram to continue asking her followers for forgiveness.

The “Love Is Blind” star took to her Instagram story to honor some influential black women and asked her fans to let her continue.

“Please give me space to take responsibility for those tweets from 2014 and earlier. 2023 Marshall is ashamed of the younger, less developed and immature version of him who posted the tweet,” Glaze said. “This time, allow me to publicly apologize to some of the phenomenal Black women in my life. Let this be an apology to all the incredible black women around the world,” she said.

Glaze ended his apology with a video dedicated to a close friend, whom he thanked for sticking by his side despite his efforts to push them away.

The tweet has led to the reality star receiving death threats. On Friday morning, he tweeted, “FINE. At what point does holding someone accountable go too far? I have a fake dating account with death threats. Really? Come on people,” he wrote. (via Twitter, per The Blast)

“One more thing, and I’ll sign off for the evening,” Glaze’s thread continued. “My apology to black women is how I treat every black woman I meet with respect and love. Words mean a lot, but actions mean more,” he concluded.
