“Love Is Blind” season four contestant Zach Goytowski sets the bar high for the pod serenade on “Love Is Blind!”
Well, that depends on who you ask.
Goytowski proposed to Irina Solomonova in the pod following an earlier relationship with fellow contestant Bliss Poureetezadi. Before Goytowski got down on one knee, he used his pipe and claimed songwriting skills to pour his heart out to his fiancé-to-be. The resulting scene quickly made the rounds on social media about how “creepy” Twitter users found it.
[There are spoilers ahead!]
The horror level practically increased after Solomonova looked uncomfortable around her man. The couple finally decided to end their relationship before heading down the aisle! Goytowski eventually reunited with Poureetezadi and proposed to her.
Earlier this week, Goytowski’s song made headlines after a TikToker made a video revealing Goytowski didn’t write the song!
Goytowski’s ‘Irina’ song is a cover!
A TikTok user used the ‘jam app’ earlier this week to point out a little easter egg: Goytowski has covered a song by alternative band Ludo!
In the video, users replayed the scene, which begins with Goytowski telling Solomonova that he had written her a song and saying to the camera, “The only thing that could make this scarier is if he didn’t write the song.”
He played a clip of Goytowski singing the first verse before TikTok cut to a YouTube video of Ludo’s song, “Sara’s Song.” Viewers also get to hear some extra verses too!
Fans were completely stunned to hear the news.
“NO way,” said one user.
“I saw one comment, and apparently, the publisher smeared it because he was joking about writing it,” speculated another.
“Am I the only one who thought he was being sarcastic when he said he wrote it?” a TikToker asked. “Like a barleycorn is not the first image in his head!”
There’s also some love for Ludo in the comments too!
“lmao, I love Ludo,” commented one fan.
“Okay, but Ludo is great,” another chimed in.
“When he said Blarney Stone, I was like, there’s no way he wrote that because WHY?” shouted another TikToker.
“It’s okay, but he sang it to Irina. If it was Bliss, it would be a different story,” said another user.
“No, because the original song is so good and has been a favorite since I was 14,” shared the fan.
Goytowski Cleans Up the Situation
The best man will finally talk about his songwriting snafu on Instagram and set the record straight!
“Ludo is my favorite band,” Goytowski later wrote in his Instagram comments. “And that’s my favorite song from them. That and the whole ‘broken bride’ album. I praised the song to them,” he explained, “I sang the whole song from beginning to end. It was only cut because everyone turned off their TV after 30 seconds. It’s not the original. i changed [d] some lyrics. Probably one of my five most embarrassing moments,” he concluded. (via Elite Daily)
The post where Goytowski addresses the lyrical slip-up is a video where he asks his followers for critical help. Before the fourth season was released on Netflix late last month, he reminded his audience not to go after cast members who received negative behavior in the form. He asked that they be given “grace” and encouraged the audience to pray for them.
The live finale of “Love Is Blind” season four will air on the platform on Sunday, April 16!
