A 62-year-old woman in a leafy English village – described by neighbors as a “beautiful woman” – turned out to be a cocaine dealer, police said.
Julie Cobley from the village of Deanshanger, in Northamptonshire, was found to have $10,000 worth of coke hidden in her home after police raided it, Saturday’s Daily Mail reported.
The raid took place in July 2022 but details have only recently emerged.
Cobley’s modus operandi was to leave packages of cocaine by his trash can and in small bags attached to his mailbox, police said. His customers left him cash in return.
Most neighbors were surprised — though some thought Cobley’s regular stream of visitors odd.
“She was beautiful, a good woman who would do anything for you,” a neighbor told the store. “He is the life and soul of the village, everyone knows him. So that’s why it’s so surprising and surprising that he’s dealing cocaine from his home.”

“There are families with small children in the street,” the neighbor added. “We’ll hear rumors but you take them as gossip but there’s a constant stream of cars heading to the property at all hours of the day and night.”
At least one neighbor told authorities they were wondering about visitors who came to Cobley’s house all the time, but never rang the doorbell or went inside.
Cobley was busted after police received an anonymous tip.

Cobley was charged with possession with intent to supply a Class A drug and was sentenced to 18 months in prison, suspended for 12 months. He also received a small fine.
“Why he did it, I can’t say,” said a neighbor. “I don’t think he works so he must have made a lot of money.’
