Luann de Lesseps just gave Bravo devotees a huge reason to look forward to the holiday season!
MEGA
The OG “Real Housewives of New York” beauty took a moment from wading through any metaphorical ‘lake of crappee’ with fellow ‘RHONY’ babe Sonja Morgan, to share some big news on Instagram. de Lesseps, 58, was a full-time cast member of “Real Housewives of New York” from its debut season in 2008, until its final season in its 2020 iteration.
The unofficial King of Bravo, Andy Cohen, raised fans’ radars after hinting that the Bravo favorite was headed for a big change; The Blast is ready to share the news!
Since our report, ‘RHONY’ has been rebooted and is currently airing its first season. In addition to the rebooted ‘RHONY,’ the reality TV sensation is in talks to pay tribute to the countless women who have taken a bite out of the Big Apple, Bravo-style, with a show referred to as ‘RHONY Legacy.’
More than a year after the whispers began, Bravo fans finally got a big clue about the series’ next chapter!
What’s The Deal With ‘RHONY Legacy?’
Cohen announced the franchise would be completely “rebooted” in a Variety interview last March.
The announcement follows much online discourse from fans about veteran cast members seeing consequences for their alleged actions, calls for younger actors and for efforts to implement more equal representation among cast members.
In January of this year, Cohen gave fans an update on ‘RHONY Legacy.’
According to our report, Cohen denied rumors about the possibility of the series not moving forward. The series is said to be facing roadblocks after several women reportedly wanted a raise and wanted more screen time. Cohen responded by tweeting, “Don’t believe everything you read #RHONYlegacy.” Fans are thanking Cohen for giving them something to work on until more news is revealed.
Fans Can Expect A Summer Vacation With ‘RHONY Legacy’ Later This Year!
Summer just got a little hotter: The highly-anticipated ‘RHONY Legacy’ is on the way… but fans are likely to flock when it airs!
de Lesseps posted a photo to her Instagram of the actress having fun on a boat in St. Barths, and stated “Christmas is coming early on @Peacock! ? As a ? to the fans, the next #RHUGT is #RHONYLEGACY! Dropping this December!!!” The singer also posted a photo announcement.
The ladies who will appear are de Lesseps and her ‘Crappie Lake’ co-stars, Ramona Singer, Dorinda Medley, Kelly Bensimon, and Kristen Taekman.
This will be Singer’s first appearance with any of the Bravo women since she reportedly turned down an invitation to join the series.
The unexpected appearance of the singer is not the only surprise that the series will bring. According to Us Weekly, ‘RHONY Legacy’ will technically serve as the fifth season of “Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip,” and will air before the fourth series. The publication revealed a source said the decision was made “in an effort to ride the momentum of the success of ‘RHONY’ and ‘[Luann and Sonja: Welcome To] Lake Crappie.”
As of this writing, there is no exact air date for the fifth season of ‘RHUGT.
