Facts/Trivia
- Ranjan had assisted director Sunil Darshan before he started his career as a director. She worked with him in the films Mere Jeevan Saathi, Dosti and Barsaat. In an interview, he talked about it and said,
I was going to Nasik with my friend Ankur Garg (now he is a partner in Luv Films) when I got a call that the filmmaker wanted to meet me. We jumped off the moving train at Mulund and took a taxi to Bandra. Sunilji had left by then. But the next day he interviewed me and hired me.”
- After assisting the director for some time, he went to the New York Film Academy to study writing in 2015.
- In 2018, Rajan’s friend Ankur Garg gifted a Mercedes-Benz car to Ranjan as his film ‘Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety’ became a superhit.
- Ranjan directs youth oriented films. In an interview, he talked about this and said,
I think it’s just a reflection of my own experience in life. Actually Akaash Vani is not a young film. The second half of the film is quite mature. Unfortunately not many people watched the film, so I am still associated with ‘Youth Centric Films’.”
- “Many famous media houses refer to Ranjan as a misogynist. In an interview, he talked about this and said,
It’s like believing that Mr. Yash Chopra believes in adultery because he made Silsila. Having opinions is a hobby of our people. I don’t think people think before voicing an opinion. And unfortunately my second film AkaashVani did not do well commercially. If I didn’t think I would answer this, the question is now.”
