A luxury Italian hotel has been forced to apologize after it covered bikini-clad women in chocolate as part of a dessert buffet – with a teenage girl among guests left with a sour taste from the “disgusting” display.
Federico Mazzieri said he and his 14-year-old daughter were living in the Voi Colonna Village in Sardinia when a female worker was covered in chocolate syrup and laid on a dessert table for at least 30 minutes.
The HR manager shared the photo to her LinkedIn, writing about her and her daughter’s disgust at hotels treating “women’s bodies as objects.”
“Last night, after a wonderful day where many people worked hard to ensure that many guests had a joyful day, I was speechless at this scene,” Mazzieri wrote, according to a translation by the Telegraph.
The guest expressed immediate “disappointment” at the sight, which his teenage son found “disgusting,” he said.
“How can such behavior exist … where the body of a woman, a worker, is treated as a dish just to satisfy the eyes of a wanderer?” Mazzieri sighed.

When he asked to speak to hotel management, staff reportedly brushed him off and claimed the treats were actually “chocolate figurines,” he claims.
After her post sparked outrage, the hotel responded by offering “you, your family, and especially your daughter, as well as our customers, our most sincere apologies on behalf of all management.
“We are very sorry for the incident. … We are taking immediate action to deal with this incident constructively and to ensure that no customer has to feel offended in any way in the future,” he added.
