The musician revealed a stunning new inked photo of himself covering most of his upper body in black ink as he ushered in a new era of music.

MGK took to social media to surprise its 8.9 million followers with a bold new look. The rapper cleared his Instagram page for the launch, which set tongues wagging.
The “Emo Girl” artist has most of her upper body completely covered in black ink including her arms, upper body and back. The design is pretty uniform, with a few lines on his arms and a cross-shaped design in the middle of his chest.
The ink flowed down MGK’s wrist as he showed a glimpse of his previous tattoo. “For spiritual purposes only,” the 33-year-old wrote in the accompanying caption. The unusual design was drawn by tattoo artist Roxx, who also shared a photo of MGK on his page.
“Making some art with @machinegunkelly Never met a harder one,” Roxx captioned her post, proving that the black ink took a lot of work, and the rapper replied, “??? thanks for the joy and pain.”
In more updates shared about MGK’s story, he gave fans an insight into the painstaking process of getting inked, revealing that he used a set of 44 needles to inject the ink into his skin. What else? The “Rap Devil” singer reports to the tattoo studio four days a week for 13 six-hour sessions to achieve appearance.
He also teased a new music release titled “dont let me go” which will premiere on Wednesday.
Despite the effort, it seems that many fans are not satisfied with MGK’s new identity. One fan said, “I love your old tattoo it’s like your history and so iconic,” while another wrote, “The sigh I let out of my mouth-“
A similar comment read, “MGK is known for his various tattoos and also his Cleveland tattoo. To cover all of that and go straight black is wild and weird to me.” This worried fan wrote, “Ugh. I hope you don’t do that. I love your tattoo. I hate it when people comment on tattoos (I have 15) but I think this is a cry for help. It seems like you keep doing dramatic and drastic things to erase yourself from the past. Idk man. I love you but this is a lot.”

This fan who shared the same sentiment commented, “Dudes have gotten so weird. Not a fan anymore smh.” However, it’s not all negative statements as some believe the new tattoo marks a rebirth for the Houston native.
“Kelsssss this is amazing. Rebirth. The new era will be the best for you, mentally, spiritually, artistically and emotionally. You are growing. So proud of you,” said one impressed fan, while another wrote, “I actually love it! ? especially the stripes on the arms, so you can still see what was there before.”
MGK Gets Leg Tattoo To Reflect His Feelings
The “bloody valentine” singer has been splurging on tattoos for the past few months. In June 2023, MGK showed off a new leg tattoo that has a deep sentimental meaning. The painting was inspired by Nigihayami Kohakunushi, otherwise referred to as Haku. It features a teal and mint green mane, with a scaly white body and claw-like feet.
Haku is a beloved character in the 2001 fantasy anime, “Spirited Away.” Explaining the reason behind the ink on her left leg, fiancé Megan Fox shared on X, formerly known as Twitter:
“I tattooed Haku on my leg last night for two reasons: she’s a river spirit so her elemental powers are mostly water (like my emotions because they’re in Pisces) and I connect with her every time I watch a spirit go, I attach it. description and it reflects how I feel in this world.”

Before showing off the leg tattoo, MGK enlisted the help of her daughter, Casie, to add a lot of ink. For the summer of 2023, the artist took to his Instagram to upload a photo of his 13-year-old daughter holding a tattoo gun and printing the design on her father’s already tattooed arm.
