Madonna Breaks Silence On ‘Unfathomable’ Attack In Israel

A-list celebrity Madonna has joined other entertainers such as Guy Oseary and Gal Gadot, in offering their support to Israel as the country grapples with the aftermath of a deadly Hamas attack. The support comes in the wake of a staggering death toll in Israel, with more than 700 casualties recorded since the military offensive began on Saturday morning.

Madonna’s Support Of Israel Sparks Debate Divides Her Fans

Madonna has taken a break from her rigorous training for her upcoming twelfth concert tour, “The Celebration Tour,” to show her solidarity with Israel. To that end, the “Like a Virgin” performer uploaded a clip featuring a male voice recounting everything that has happened since “terrorist units attacked Israeli territory driving cars and motorcycles.”

“While they were taking hostages and killing civilians, some of their units drove to a party, started shooting at everyone they saw. Parents are still looking for their children, not knowing what happened to them,” continued the voice. The multi-award-winning artist’s upload was made all the more horrifying by his lengthy caption, which he began by writing:

“What’s Happening in Israel is Devastating.. Watching all these families and especially the children being herded, attacked and killed in the streets is Heartbreaking. Imagine if this happened to you?? It is incomprehensible.”

After stating that humanity does not understand that “conflicts cannot be resolved with violence,” the “Like a Prayer” singer continued, “My heart goes out to Israel. To the Families and Homes that have been destroyed. To the lost children. To the Innocent Victims who have been killed. To all who have suffered or will suffer as a result of this conflict.”

Madonna closed by emphasizing that she prayed for the embattled country while maintaining her awareness “that this is the work of Hamas and that there are many innocent people in Palestine who do not support this terrorist organization.”

Instead of uniting her nearly 20 million followers, the Instagram post caused division, with many calling the hitmaker “Material Girl” for her ignorance on the subject.

“Only if you had posted, honestly, one word against the daily violence that the Palestinian civilians have suffered until now, this post would mean something,” said one, while another commented, “I didn’t see any of your posts when Israel attacked Palestine . It feels like the Palestinians don’t deserve your attention.”

Meanwhile, this Instagram user wrote, “thank you for your support. We are a peaceful people – the last day’s horrific news gave the world perspective on the kind of terrorists we live with. This has to STOP.”

Prior to Madonna’s post, Israeli-born Guy Oseary also took to his Instagram page to share some viral footage highlighting gruesome scenes from the Hamas attack. As reported by The Blast, the talent manager wrote in the accompanying caption:

“This is terrible.. this killing is being celebrated by the government/regime in Iran. Many women, children, and old people were taken from their homes and kidnapped. I always pray for peace. ALWAYS. I always speak for my Jewish community and also speak for my Arab brothers. I have no words today. Just heartbroken. Just tears.”

As the battle to drive Palestinian militants from the southern border town entered its third day, Israel’s defense minister, Yoav Gallant, has ordered a “total siege” of the long-blocked Gaza Strip. The move comes as a major incursion that has left hundreds dead and sparked Israeli air strikes on Gaza.

As The New York Times reported, Gallant stated that Gaza would be cut off from fuel, electricity, food, and water, effectively intensifying the existing 16-year blockade on the territory. Likewise, Lt. Col. Richard Hecht of the Israel Defense Forces reported on Monday that in some areas, troops were still engaged in clashes with militants who began their attack on Israel on Saturday.

Israel’s chief military spokesman, Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari, later confirmed that the army had regained control of the border community. He, however, admitted that there may still be militants in the area, as gunfire continued near the Israeli village of Kfar Azza, close to the border.

The conflict has left more than 700 people dead in Israel and widespread destruction in Gaza, with hundreds of targets hit, including buildings linked to Hamas. Reports indicate that civilian casualties are mounting, with mosques, markets, homes, and high-rise buildings among the damaged structures. In Gaza, authorities reported at least 560 Palestinians killed and more than 2,900 injured.
