Madonna’s tardiness is no longer acceptable to concertgoers, with two disgruntled fans criticizing her in a class-action lawsuit.
According to court documents obtained by The Blast, two people filed the suit Wednesday in Brooklyn, accusing the Queen of Pop and the show’s “deceptive trade practices,” saying her late performance was a huge inconvenience to them even though the tickets stated an earlier time.
Madonna Struck Over ‘False Advertising’ In New Lawsuit
The “Material Girl” singer, along with Live Nation and Barclays Center, were named in the lawsuit as the cause of “false advertising, negligent misrepresentation and unfair and deceptive trade practices” on her “Celebration” world tour.

The men stated that they each bought tickets for Madonna’s concert on December 13, 2023, at the Barclays Center, with access passes indicating that the show would start at 8:30 p.m. To their dismay, the icon was over two hours late and arrived after 10 :30 pm, without any notice of delay from him or the presenter.
According to the man, they arrived early at the scene and had to wait for hours. Their problems only increase when the show ends after 1am as they struggle with limited public and private vehicles and the increased cost of transport at that late hour.
Additionally, late performances on weeknights affected plaintiffs’ lives the following day because they “had to get up early to go to work and/or take care of their family responsibilities.” They stated Madonna’s delay was unfair to all concertgoers as she repeated the same pattern on other concert dates, writing:
“Defendants engaged in unfair, unfair and/or misleading trade practices by offering the public a Concert promised to begin at 8:30 p.m., knowing that Madonna would certainly not be participating at the advertised start time.”
The man insists that if they had known the concert would start late, they would never have bought tickets. They also asserted Madonna and others would unfairly profit from false advertising and asked the court to address their grievances in a jury trial.

As for their claim, the men are seeking actual and consequential damages for Madonna’s actions in addition to any pre- and post-judgment interests allowed by law. In addition, they asked the court to grant them any other compensation deemed necessary for their case.
Madonna Grateful To Tour After Health Scare
Two months before the famous concert in December, the “La Isla Bonita” singer gave a poignant speech at her Belgium show in October about her health scare. He expressed gratitude to God for allowing him to tour, considering the challenges he went through before starting his worldly duties.
Madonna reflected on her survival, saying: “Less than four months ago, I was in the hospital, and I was unconscious, and people were thinking, predicting that I might not make it.” He emphasized his deep gratitude to be on the Belgian stage, declaring:
“It is a miracle that I am here now. My mother, God bless her, she must be watching over me — she said, ‘Girl, this is not your time to go.’”
The “Like a Virgin” hitmaker admitted she wasn’t in the best of shape but refused to complain as she got a second chance at life. “Thank you god for my children and all your love and support,” she continued before linking her hospital stay to her late mother’s final battle with breast cancer.
“I had this strange thought. I suddenly sympathized with my mother, not about death, but how lonely she was in the hospital, knowing that she was not going to live,” Madonna lamented.

Fans will recall that in June, the seven-time Grammy winner’s manager, Guy Oseary, revealed that he spent time in the ICU due to a bacterial infection. Although his health is worrying, his prognosis is optimistic.
After a three-month hiatus to ensure her well-being, Madonna finally launches her much-anticipated Festival Tour on October 14 at London’s O2 Arena.
