Matthew Perry played the iconic character, Chandler Bing, for 10 seasons on the hit sitcom “Friends,” and his co-stars are dealing with his death.
He and the other five “Friends” became very close on set, so after they learned of Perry’s death, they decided to release a joint statement.

Matthew Perry is best known for his role as Chandler Bing in the hit sitcom, ‘Friends,’ where he appeared alongside Jennifer Aniston (Rachel Green), Courteney Cox (Monica Geller/Bing), David Schwimmer (Ross Geller), Matt LeBlanc (Joey Tribbiani) , and Lisa Kudrow (Phoebe Buffay).
After the cast learned of Perry’s tragic passing, the five co-stars released a statement, expressing how much she meant to each of them.
“We are all very disappointed by the loss of Matthew. We are more than just an acting couple. We are a family,” their statement reads. “There is much to say, but for now we will take some time to grieve and process this unexpected loss.”
“In time we will say more, when we are able,” the statement continued. “At this time, our thoughts and love are with Matty’s family, his friends and everyone who loved him around the world.”
The message was later signed by Aniston, Cox, Kudrow, LeBlanc, and Schwimmer.
Courteney Cox and Matthew Perry’s Off-Screen Friendship

Despite falling in love and getting married on “Friends”, Matthew Perry and Courteney Cox’s off-screen relationship remains a friendship. “There’s a rule we have, it’s very important to the six of us, that we maintain our friendship; that we are friends. And if we’re hooking up or if there’s anything weird going on, it could be messy,” Perry said in May 2021 while promoting HBO Max’s “Friends: The Reunion.”
“So, we maintained our friendship, and we became good friends. And we are really good friends to this day,” he added.

Paget Brewster, who portrayed Kathy on “Friends,” released a heartfelt statement to her on-screen love interest, Chandler, played by Perry, after learning of her death.
“I’m so sad to hear about Matthew Perry,” she wrote, adding, “He was so good to me on ‘Friends’ and every time I saw him in the decades after.”
The “Friends” actor also asked fans to “please read his book” because “it’s his legacy to help”. Brewster was referring to Perry’s 2022 memoir, “Friends, Lovers, and Big Awful Things”, in which he opened up about his life and his struggles with alcohol and drugs.

The “Friends” actor later asserted that “[Perry] won’t rest in peace though.. He’s too busy making everyone laugh up there.”
Morgan Fairchild, who portrayed Chandler Bing’s mother on the sitcom, took to social media, writing:
