Maitreyi Ramakrishnan is a Canadian actor best known for playing the lead character ‘Devi Vishwakumar’ in the Netflix teen comedy series Never Have I Ever (2020).

Maitreyi Ramakrishnan was born on Friday, December 28, 2001 (age 18; as in 2019) in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. His zodiac sign is Capricorn. She made her acting debut with the 2020 Nelfix comedy series, “Never Have I Ever” as ‘Devi Vishwakumar.’ He was chosen by Mindy Kaling out of 15,000 candidates who had applied for an open casting call for the show.
He deferred his acceptance to the theater program at York University, Toronto, because of his acting project (Never Have I Ever). Reportedly, she may put her degree on hold if she acts in another season of the show.

He belongs to a Sri Lankan Tamil Family but identifies himself as a Tamil and Canadian. Speaking about it, he said,
I made it very clear to my agent and publicist that Tamil Canadian is very, very important to me … my identity is not Sri Lankan,” he said. “That is not my country. My country is Canada. But my culture is definitely Tamil.”
His family came to Canada as refugees after the civil war in Sri Lanka (1983-2009). His father, Ram Selvarajah is an IT expert. His mother, Kiruthiha Kulendiren is in the field of marketing. He has an elder brother named Vishwaa Ramakrishnan.
